• Windows XP will not boot normally, only in Safe Mode!

My regular computer's Hard Drive fried the other day and my dad gave me a PC for me to use because he didn't need it. When he set it up for me, It worked fine. As I go to bed, I power down, because I save the earth that way! When I powered on today, It would boot up, seemingly normally, but after the Windows XP logo, It powers of and tries again. I can only run it in safe mode. Please help me get it working! My eyes are hurting from 640x480!
Try running malwarebytes, there might be some virus on there, ive had a ton which have done that

In Safe Mode, run msconfig, disable all startup items except your display driver and Windows Audio. It should boot then
FFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU- It worked, partially. I was able to boot but it got stuck at the desktop. The icons and task bar didnt load it just sat there for hours. :ohdear:
Boot into Safe Mode and System Restore to a time when it worked. That should solve your problems.
Did you allow Explorer.exe?
