I have the Hitachi 51F510 Basically, all I want to know is if I can disassemble the speakers and use them for something else. I've used Google but have not come to a good find. Help please?
Sure, speakers are speakers. you'll have 2 wires a + and a -, but you might need an amplifier.
you will need a multimeter too to measure the ohms of the speakers if the speakers ohms is less than the amps then you can say goodbye to the amp if you turn it up too high if the ohms of the speaker is higher than the amp then the amp wont pump out as much power if you take a 4 ohm 100 watt amp if you hook up a 8 ohm speaker then the amp will only kick out 50 watts
You can't measure speaker Impedance With a bog standard multimeter. - Although the unit of measurement is the same (Ohms) the way they work is completely different. - Although the DC measurement can be somewhat close it should not be used as a way for measuring impedance (an AC measurement). It's usually stamped on the back of the basket or magnet assembly anyway.
Wow, thanks guys. Alright so I'm going to post the first ever disassembly of a rear-projection t.v! EDIT: I'm going to take pictures and begin soon.
What are you going to do with them?
What are you going to do with them?
maybe some sort of ghetto sound system
What are you going to do with them?
I was thinking of putting a microphone in the bathroom and connecting the speakers throughout the house, just so everybody knows that I need to poop.
thats a P odd use for them if they are a decent size i would have built a Lported box and used them for subs if they were small then homemade mids/highs or headphones
