Which phone to get? - Nexus 5, Z3, S5, Note 3, HTC ONE?

Hey, used to have: Samsung Galaxy Ace -> Xperia U -> Xperia Z -> Galaxy Y now, so I am kinda android guy.
Had to get rid of Xperia Z since it had this flaw with back plate glueing off when it heats up making it not waterproof.
Anyway, I decided to get new phone, looking to spend up to 800 Euro on it.
Never been really fan of Samsung since I see it's design and GUI kind of plain and nothing impressive (except eye tracking thing).
What I need:
*Fastest hardware avaialble (preferably).
*Huge, and I mean absolutely huge-ass screen (I am android developer, so it matters to me).
*Durable.
*Have unique features.
*Be KitKat OS, and support nearest future OS updates (e.g - Android L)
*Decent camera and sound recording.
What I see about phones in title:
Nexus 5:
Only PRO I see: instant OS updates.
Z3:
Only CON I am afraid of: Back plate unglueing when/if it heats up.
PRO: I really like the Sony/Playstation feel of their modified OS.
S5:
Other than shitty GUI modifications by Samsung, I don't know any cons or pros.
Note 3:
Same as above for S5.
HTC ONE:
Never had an HTC.
Anyone can recommend anything of those kinds?
Wait for the 2014 Moto X orrrr get a OnePlus One

OnePlus One looks kinda nice, yet it seems getting it is pain in the ass.
Moto X seems to be bit slow-ish on CPU.
Get the HTC One. HTC's buildquality is superb and HTC Sense is arguably the best OEM Android.
Get a OnePlus One. It's honestly the best device I've ever had. I happened to get an invite. If you don't want to wait, you can always get them with other methods. It's pretty damn cheap as well. I paid 260 euros, and I got it shipped within three days.
And it's got pretty much everything you'd want of a phone. It's big, good quality, great battery and very light!
Only problem I might think of it having for you is that it has Cyanogen by default, no idea if that might hamper your developing.

The 2014 Moto X has the same SoC as every other 2014 flagship though, a Snapdragon 801. And it'll be available starting this week, iirc.

So I guess its not possible to install 4.4 on it without rooting?
So I guess its not possible to install 4.4 on it without rooting?
a. it's ez root
b. it comes with CM11S, aka the special 1+1 version of CM based on 4.4AOSP
[editline]9th September 2014[/editline]
it being CM does mean you're not gonna get L right out of the gate though.
if you prefer having L right away, i'd go with N5

I am not specifically chasing L, I just want to be sure the phone I get will have it available in future sometime.
So I don't get it, can you make official certified apps with Cyanogen being on phone?
I'm using a HTC phone, it's great, so I 'd recommend the HTC ONE
Did some research on OnePlus One.
Most people on Stackoverflow say it should be fine to develop apps on it.
However I noticed it's Chinese company, what is the quality of phone? is it good?
Also I noticed there is Nexus X/6 coming out in Q4 of 2014, is there any more details on it?
I have no idea what kind of impact it could have on developing apps, I don't really have much experience with that.
The overall quality of the phone is good. It's a bit hard to give proper input on it, since I don't own it for very long yet. I did try just about everything the phone can do, and it's all quite satisfying.
If you want to know anything specific, just ask me or send me a PM. I'll try to give you the information you need :)
LG G3
If you're a developer, you really have to start digging for excuses to not get the Nexus 5.
They'll have L released before the source code drops.

Perhaps I should wait for Nexus X/6?
Assuming it's coming out Q4 2014.
im waiting for the nexus X/6 for sure before I JUMP from my n5.
if it turns out as good as i hope, it will be worth the wait
People say the S5 is good, but I've had too many problems with min to reccomend it. I now have a G3 and its pretty good so far (only had it 4 so we'll see). Z3 is suppose to be very very good.
Yeah before I created this thread I wanted to get Z3, but after exploring whole world of phones I realized it's shape and design isn't what I want, kinda love the look of slightly curved on top and bottom.
Also I read somewhere there is phone that can take voice commands without unlocking it, like contineous voice listening, which one is that?

OnePlus One.
iPhone 6
Just kidding, go with HTC.
The OnePlus One is an average phone at a good price point. However, CyanogenMod is nowhere near as good as it used to be.
I have a One M8 and it's been good. Little hiccups once in a while but I have a lot of apps running in the background.
Personally, I'd go Nexus 5 for the sheer size of the community (and the ensuing support / accessories) and near-stock OS without having to touch anything, or Z3 if waterproofing / durability is required.
Nothin' like stock Android. The other choices are decent, but if given a choice I like something that's meant to use stock (although I own this funky Optimus G Pro myself).

my g3 can do that through google now.
[editline]12th September 2014[/editline]
my s5 could also do that

of those phones, there's none with hardware always listening.
always listening coprocessor is on the n5, but not enabled. if that's a feature you want a lot, you'll drain battery life on all devices other than the moto x
did you mean this?

you're using the google search always listening which was a massive battery hog for me
i'm talking about the one the moto x has with the voice coprocessor, meaning no effect on battery life

oh, right. why can't all phones have that. i want that :(
Really starting to breaking apart in choice of phones, so many of them.
I assume Stock android will always be faster no matter what?
oh, right. why can't all phones have that. i want that :(
well actually any phone using a Snapdragon 800 has the capability to. The 800 has a low-power core specifically for voice recognition but with qualcomm being qualcomm it's closed source and no-one's used it yet. :v:
either nexus 5 or oneplus one
