I did LSD and I didn't hallucinate. Is that normal?

Hey, so I did LSD a few weekends ago with a few friends and one of my friends' dad (who does LSD a lot). We went to a beach, on the drive up we dosed. I think each of us did 200 micrograms.
Anyway, it kicked in about an hour after taking it, and I definitely was high. Colors were brighter/more vibrant and my thoughts were more profound. I was definitely high. Everything just seemed so beautiful.
But I didn't hallucinate. I didn't see unicorns, I didn't see any people that were there that I thought weren't there, nothing of that sort. I thought that's what LSD was going to be like.
The only difference was I was a lot happier, colors were brighter, everything was beautiful, I felt a very strong connection to my friends, music sounded 200x better and it was hard to sleep. I didn't have that whole "seeing colors" or "hearing sounds" thing.
I mean, it was definitely awesome but it was nothing like I expected....Is that what LSD really is like or did I just not take enough?
It's impossible to tell what dosage you actually took, but you had the preliminary stages of tripping. And the complete visual hallucinations only ever occur for me when I'm profoundly tripping/peaking. Really, it's hard to say. Maybe you didn't take enough, maybe the dosage was too low.
How did you ingest it?

Orally.
More specific. Did you soak it on/under your tongue, did you chew it after it was soaked, etc.

It was a small piece of paper, I put it under my tongue for 5 minutes, broke it up my mouth for one minute and swallowed the rest of the paper.

The visuals on LSD are not like seeing random unicorns and things that aren't there (unless you take very high dose). It's more like things morph and change into other things.
From what you wrote, sounds like you got the gist of an acid trip, next time take a little more.
If you want to see things that aren't there take 700mg of DPH
[editline]17th September 2012[/editline]
And you got a threshold LSD dosage, definitely not 200ug. Take more next time. Usually, it's recommended to take 2-3 tabs your first time as you don't know the strength and you don't want an underwhelming trip.

5 minutes should have been 15, and you should've chewed it until it had the consistency of gum
and yes take more next time
200mics will be a pretty hellish trip for most... but forget the idea that you'll see unicorns and shit. you won't. sounds like you probably had 50-100 mics at most. i start to get tracers off everything about 120-150 mics and it goes steadily west from there ;)
Your first time is usually pretty weak, but you're not going to see unicorns and flying monkeys everywhere. Just do it more and take more.
All the movies make it out to visually seeing things that resemble hollywood FX. It's not. Halos around lights, maybe some fuzzy or wavy image distortion and a fucked mind is what acid is.
heh there is a lot more visuals than that if you take a bigger dose unreliable but yea its not like the movies

I'll find that out this weekend, hehehe. The most I've taken is ~500ug. That was 2 and a half tabs. This weekend I'll have 5 or 6 of the same dosage.
I feel like I was just explaining the just of it since he took a like a tabs worth.
that probably wasn't 500ug cause I have had one tab once and I had way more visuals than you described, but to be fair that was the strongest tab I have ever had in my life I think I got really lucky, my friends friend had brought it over from holland to where I live (new zealand)
tabs on this end are pretty strong
fractals everywhere, and I don't mean like visual overlay fractals, I mean the world became fractals, or became perceived as fractals
then the colour shifting was ridiculous, orange to purple and in between, and other colours i'd never seen before. Walking home went through a field of pink flowers, oh man they were the pinkest things i'd ever seen, it's like i'd never really saw pink until then
then there was 2 kinds of trail things, one that's like a motion blur and one that was like an imprint of what just happened
so awesome
It depends on various things I would say. I've taken 3 trips so far. The first one had strong visuals, so everything was morphing around, everyrhing was moving. There were no straight Lines and no corners. Stuff I drew started moving. My tattoo seemed to be alive.
On my second trip there was not so much movement everywhere ( I had the strong feeling that this was because my first trip already showed me that everything was "alive").
My third Trip was visually very intense and I even saw some things that weren't there. Most people would call it a horror trip but I wouldnt call it like that because at no point I was scared. It was just really exhausting. Anyway the wall started moving and the whole wall turned into a bunch of skeletons and skulls circling around a giant skull. Also I saw monsters crawling around on the wall ripping on the walls ("ripping apart my sanity"). The world was very changed, everything was black and white or had a strong orange look. But yeah I also saw a fly or an insect flying infront of my face. As I tried to catch it my hand went through it and I realised that it was no pseudo- but infact a full blown hallucination.
So uh hmm. Yeah I'm totally high right now and I forgot what this was even about.
Ah yeah the hallucinating. Well maybe I could help you. I think the hallucinating depends really on the dosage and the set. But if you want unicorns and elephants LSD can't help you with that. (besides seeing things inside the fractals. )
Oh and I took 250 ug everytime.
Hey guys, so I read that people doesn't get hallucinations on their first time on LSD.
I wonder, if I'm not a guy who isn't really sensitive to hallucinations, should I take more LSD on my first time? (About 300ug or more?)
I'm not pretty sure but I really wanna try this and understand my subconscious.
Not everyone is visually sensitive. I wish I was more sensitive to visuals. I didn't even hallucinate off 1000mg DXM.
The only time I ever got any visuals was this one time I blazed with a bunch of noobs, who all got retarded and saw CEV'S and OEV's. Was pretty weird seeing faces in the trees and fences warping. I closed my eyes and seeing shit like a carousel with geometric patterns and fractals around it. Was weird because I've been smoking for almost 3 years and that has never happened. Maybe it had something to do with the people around me. Who knows.
But if you wan't to see shit that isn't there. Benadryl DPH is your best friend.

Actually that's a good assumption, that you saw those things because you were around others. See the brain has a pack mentality, so if everyone else claims they see something, your brain can actually "make" you see things that aren't there, just off of knowing that everyone else is supposedly seeing it too.

where did you read that because its just plainly not true. And anyway the hallucinations are just a bonus to the actual trip, its all about the mental side, start slow with psychadelics dont just jump in the deep end cause thats how bad shit goes down. 300ug plus is a heavy dose

And do you suggest me to start with a 300ug dose?

They persisted even when I was at home by myself. Was quite amazing.

Well I mean it could've carried over, as long as you truly believed you were seeing them, it's all in your head anyway haha
And do you suggest me to start with a 300ug dose?
no way its better to start with a lower dose, no point in rushing things. Although you probably won't know what your dose is anyway

If you want to hallucinate, try a psychedelic instead of a dissociative
yea thats definitely true, I almost never get visuals on dxm, its not really the purpose people take dxm anyway

Actually Aldous Huxely and Timothy Leary both said that a lower dose brings a higher risk of a bad trip. And that's what I heard from the people I know. I think he said between 150-220ug is an optimal dose for a starter but I'll look it up
I've heard that too. Start with a higher dose than a lower dose. Lower doses are usually just boring, but mentally-hard on a new tripper
I've heard that too. Start with a higher dose than a lower dose. Lower doses are usually just boring, but mentally-hard on a new tripper
I agree completely. If the dose is too low you get stuck between two worlds and that's much more complicated.
