I dont care if I can't max it out I just want to know if it's better or the same as a Nvdia 9800 GT and can it play all games (besides Metro 2033 which I know wont work well with it)
It's worse than the 9800gt. However, it's a pretty good card for midrange laptops, and you should run most games on medium-high fine.
My system is running one with a Core i5, though I haven't run many intensive games things like Borderlands, Left4Dead and Portal (Yeah, I know, not a really impressive batch to gauge performance) run very nicely at maximum settings. Just be prepared for it to get hot, I run mine with a fan pad and it sounds like a jet taking off.

True, true, for references sake then; mine is a HP Pavilion dv6 But yes, I do recommend this card, good performance for the cost
oh okay so I am better of getting this for an 17" laptop for like 800-900 (depending if it's on sale) than a GTX460 Asus Laptop for like 1300-1400
if you can bother to spend the money go for an ASUS
if you can bother to spend the money go for an ASUS
MSi, Toshiba, Sony, Samsung too
MSi, Toshiba, Sony, Samsung too
Not a huge fan of VAIO laptops.
True, true, for references sake then; mine is a HP Pavilion dv6 But yes, I do recommend this card, good performance for the cost
That's because its a dv series. They always have heat problems.
Not a huge fan of VAIO laptops.
I feel like vaio's are the mac's of pc's.
I feel like vaio's are the mac's of pc's.
I've heard they are decent. My cousin has one and hasn't had any problems as far as I know.
I feel like vaio's are the mac's of pc's.
If you get a good deal on them, they're pretty nice. The touchpad on mine is in my opinion just about the best I've tried, though it's pretty small. The keyboard is very nice, too.
not bad card i'd say. I had a friend with a Dell XPS 1920x1080 using the same card and running Dead Space 2 at max setting at 30+ FPS. It did dip at 25 and below but only at certain parts.
so it's like a 9600 GT or better.?
Metro 2033 Work fine on a 9800gt. sure you can't play it on high but I had no slowdowns when I payed it.
yea this card is not as good as a 9800 though
yea this card is not as good as a 9800 though
I did get that but from the first posted it looked like you said that the 9800gt could not run it. I probably just misunderstood.
I am getting this: http://tweakers.net/pricewatch/266880/sony-vaio-vpceb3s1e-bq-%28zwart%29.html#tab:info For 675€ It is sony and has a 5650. 2,53GHz

I have a Vaio with a GMA945. Don't run Source games on that IGP: But yeah, anything that isn't Intel should run at least Source games on Low-Medium. OP, you'll be fine, just don't expect to run Crysis at max settings
holy hell that's like 1300$
Actually thats: 932.647$
Actually, with the today's exchange rate, it's 931.8375USD My laptop's got a 4250M in it. It runs WoW at 10fps with all on low. But the 5650 is quite a bit better than the 4250. You'll probably do fine if you only do light gaming and don't mind running on medium settings.
If there's a notebook card out there with 9800 GT performance, it's gotta be the GTX 260M. And that would be a gaming laptop. Well,I'm surprised this old card(the 260) can beat most of the new laptop cards such as the 425,435,5650,5730,330,335.etc.etc.

If one explosive barrel goes off in Gmod, those spikes start going all over. If there are 3 barrels, it instantly blue screens. But hey, at least N64 games and Beat Hazard work.

I got a 5650HD on my laptop. I can run any game I own on high settings, averaging around 20 to 80 fps for each game. Oblivion: Max settings, 40-30 fps all max Fallout 3: 60 fps all max Far Cry 2: 60-30 fps on DirectX 9 - 15-20 on DirectX 10 no AA GTA4: 25 fps with max textures, 75 draw and detail Modern Warfare 2: 50-70 FPS with everything maxed, no AA Killing Floor: 80 -100 fps Half Life 2 Episode 2: 100+ fps Left 4 Dead 2: 40+ fps, reaches 200 with no zombies.
Actually, the Sandy Bride GPUs aren't complete crap.
Agreed, they can run Source games decently.
That's a pretty fine deal, and good luck.
Just got it! Runs Eve online at max with 60 FPS. And l4d at 100. It hates magicka though.
