This post is my way of bragging that I got in. Expect some news tonight at Sony's TGS conference if you're into Bloodborne. 30 minute stream tomorrow. [t]http://i.imgur.com/rUEkUKX.png[/t] Edit: Check your PSN email if you've gotten platinum trophies on DeS/DaS/DaS2 or played them a lot. People on Reddit are saying they logged several thousand hours into Demon's Souls and that's certainly the case for me. Seems like they're only going out to people who REALLY like the Souls games.
wow, honestly what a cool reward. platinuming dark souls sounds like bragging rights already, but then you get this! [editline]sd[/editline] lol except for xbox and pc users
I got excited then realized I don't have a PS4 :(
I just got a PS4 But dammit most of my hours in Dark Souls are on Xbox, and DS2 is all on PC :(
I got excited then realized I don't have a PS4 :(
You should really consider getting one. Sony is funding some really sweet and creative games. Also the earlier you get your PS4, the more PS+ games you'll have later on.
I don't have a PS4, but I wouldn't alpha test it anyway. This is the kind of game where I'd prefer to know as little as possible before launch.

By the time Dark Souls 2 came out, even though I only played through one of the 20 or 30 areas in the game, it ruined that one area for me and I couldn't wait to get past it since I ran through it like ten times already.
When is the collectors edition being announced? I don't have a PS4 yet but I wanna pre-order the moment it comes up to ensure I get mine.
fuck, that's what i get for putting in my hundred hours into the PC versions
fuck, that's what i get for putting in my hundred hours into the PC versions
100 hours is nothing for the souls series
100 hours is nothing for the souls series
I have about 210 in 2 and working my way up in 1. It still feels fresh and fun to play.
all of my hours in the souls games are either on the PC version of Dark 1 and Dark 2 or the Xbox version of Dark 1, which I don't even own anymore shit I'm platinum mad here
So this game is in alpha despite having been in the works for two years and despite it coming out in five months?
100 hours is nothing for the souls series
i know but it's a heck of a lot more than the 0 hours ive put into the console versions.
So this game is in alpha despite having been in the works for two years and despite it coming out in five months?
"alpha" and "beta" mean pretty much jack shit ever since showing off "PRE-ALPHA FOOTAGE" at E3 and the like became a thing to some companies "alpha" means "nothing has textures and everything is made out of squares and to others it means "the game's practically finished but we haven't made the framerate play nice yet"
Wasn't really that interested by DS1/2 but I want to buy this on PS4, would be cool to get into the alpha but no chance of that
I don't have a PS4 yet, i'll wait until there's a bundle with Bloodborne i think. I spent my time on the Xbox so that would be a bit of a kick in the teeth, but whatever. Even if i got an Alpha invite, i'd end up giving it to someone because i really wouldn't want to spoil it for myself.
I hate exclusives with a passion. There's no justification for it. Because I bet there's a gigantic demand for this game on PC.
That's a pretty cool way to determine who gets to alpha test. [editline]17th September 2014[/editline]
I hate exclusives with a passion. There's no justification for it. Because I bet there's a gigantic demand for this game on PC.
FromSoft have a history with Sony. There wasn't really a demand for them to even start putting games on PC until dark souls started to getting a huge cult following. I'd imagine Sony sweetened the deal a bit to keep this one exclusive at least for the time being.
Getting this invite has nothing to do with how much Souls you've played since I got one having played like two hours of Demon's Souls and neither of the other games on PS3. It's probably got more to do with whether you played in the DS2 beta last year or whether you've just played a Souls game at all on PS3.

I've got a feeling this game might go the Demon Souls route, and never come to PC.
It's true, and it's a damn shame that's what. I've got a feeling this game might go the Demon Souls route, and never come to PC.
It's never coming to PC because not only are Sony financing and publishing the game but they're also co-developing it at SCE Japan Studio.
100 hours is nothing for the souls series
it took me 80 hours to complete my first playthrough of dark souls
Oh the perks of owning a PC and both next gen consoles.
I wonder how long it'll take VaatiVidya to get alpha code? Assuming he hasn't already, since that guy is pretty big in the Souls scene on YouTube alongside EpicNameBro.
You should really consider getting one. Sony is funding some really sweet and creative games. Also the earlier you get your PS4, the more PS+ games you'll have later on.
I have a PS3 and I'm still collecting all of the PS4 PSN+ games. Same goes for Vita.
I don't know why OP didn't include the link where you can sign up for the same chance as him to get in the alpha; aslong as you have a PSN account, but here you go: https://psnbeta.eu.playstation.com/userInfo.php?enroll=Bloodborne Enrollment ends Sept. 23rd Take your chance

Hope I get in it
I hate exclusives with a passion. There's no justification for it. Because I bet there's a gigantic demand for this game on PC.
Since this is a collaboration between From Software+Sony Japan,it wouldn't exist without Sony. Hypothetically if some billionaire paid From Software to make a PC exclusive game and flaunt it around E3 while saying "you'll never get this", they'd certainly be within their rights. Sony Japan was so heavily involved in Demon's Souls that I doubt Souls would even be a thing without Sony. From Software certainly wouldn't be where they are today without Sony's support of King's Field and Shadow Tower (which laid the groundwork for the Souls series and predates them by about 15 years). It sucks that it's not on PC but Sony is funding it and they've been partners for the past 20 years now. Anyone who likes From Software games know at this point that it's a good idea to get a Playstation 4.
Too bad that the PS4 has like 1 exclusive that is intresting for me and that is this. Hell, I never even got around to playing dark souls 1 since it controls like garbage even with a xbox 360 controller.
