Is it worth getting a GTX 660 Ti over a 560 Ti or should I upgrade to a 570 or 670?

Hi,
I've decided to upgrade my graphics card alone, because the rest of my build is pretty competent imo.
Win 7 64 Bit
500W PSU (unsure on how this will run one of these graphics cards...)
8GB RAM
AMD Phenom II X4 840 @3.20gHz
MSI N430GT 1GB (what I'm looking to upgrade)
AS Rock N68-VGS/VS3 UCC Motherboard
I may also have to get a new case because my current case holds the motherboard to allow one-slot graphics cards (so the monitor plugs into the card on the very top slot) but I am unsure as to whether this will work with a dual-slot GPU.
Anyway, any recommendations for my current build would be very much appreciated (I prefer Nvidia over AMD/ATI however, because of fancy PhysX in Borderlands 2 and 3D occasionally).
Thanks for ye olde help :3
Hmm, I think you should go for the 660 ti, as you'll get close to 1000% performance boost compared to the 560 ti, it should give you about 500-600% performance boost.

Uh no. 1000% performance boost would be TEN TIMES the performance.

"The GeForce GTX 660 Ti should be quite a bit (about 815%) better at AF than the GeForce GT 430 1GB"

Yes hwcompare is a shitty site but that would be an accurate guess of how much better it would be.

Thanks for ye olde help :3
With a 670 or 570, you will see some bottlenecking.
Well thanks for your help guys :3 I think I'll go for the 660 Ti.
I knew my gt430 was pretty bad but I didn't realise it was this bad lol (I can max portal 2 on it and play bf3 on medium/high)
Instead of another thread, could you guys please help me with my second issue of the case?
My graphics card sits on the only PCI 2.0 x16 slot there is on the motherboard (the 'lower' one). However the case is pretty tall up the top, so that bottom slot reaches only the top slot for the GPU. If you don't understand, here's an image:

Sorry for mega size :L
Oh that's where my oblivion disc got to lol :3
So I guess my question is- Will the 660 ti fit
Again thanks :3
I'm not sure what you mean by that. The 660 ti should occupy the top 2 slots on your case, unless you want to put something else in the second slot there shouldn't be a problem.
Would you mind posting what the inside of your case looks like? And it would be good to check the PSU, just post a photo of the label with all the specifications.
The GT 430 is not a very powerful card.
It's performance is on par with a GTS 250m.

Here (because the images are so big, I'll just put up some URLs):

http://imageshack.us/a/img152/5959/20120918184955.jpg
And I looked closer at the graphics card slot, the 660 ti should fit lol. My bad :L
Anyways, the PSU may need upgrading...
12V * 22A = 264W
Yup, you'll definitely need a new PSU to run pretty much any card that requires extra power connectors. Also what the christ, 50 amps at +5V? That's some serious padding to bring the wattage rating of the PSU up.
Otherwise you should be good.
This should give you an idea of the 660 Ti's performance:

Thanks.
I don't really know any PSU brands, so which one would you recommend for the 660 ti? Also, I'm in Australia so I can't buy from newegg :L
12V * 22A = 264W
any reason you're getting a 660 ti when you're still using vga? (at least thats what it looks like) i would think both of these cards would be overkill for whatever resolution you would be playing at
anyways ontopic
the 560 ti is getting older and if you plan on upgrading your monitor or if thats dvi and i'm mistaken it does pretty poorly at high resolutions
the 570 is slower than the 660 ti in everything i have seen however if you grab something like the msi power edition of the 660 ti you can hit about the same performance as a 670 through overclocking
Where did he mention he was using VGA?
Also, VGA can hit pretty high resolutions, it's not locked to 800x600 or whatever :v:
and you could not be more wrong on the topic of DVI
He was saying the 560 Ti does poorly at high resolutions from how I read it. Which has a bit of truth to it when you're talking about its generation of cards.
My monitor is at 1024x768
But I also should be upgrading from my good ol' Diamond View soon. What PSUs do you recommend, Facepunch?

we nineties now
Well, with my old Diamond View and Compucon CM101+ keyboard, I guess that is a valid statement :3
we nineties now
A decent 500w+ from corsair, antec, seasonic. I'd suggest the Neo Eco's since they are OEM'd by seasonic and relatively cheap.
Sorry for the bump, but I have not quite gotten answers for which PSU would fit in with a 660 Ti best.
If you could just rate agree for the first one or disagree for the second I would be grateful. If neither are any good, could you please recommend me one? Again, sorry for the bump :L

Sorry if I am being completely ignorant, I have no idea at all when it comes to PSUs.
The neo eco but get it from newegg. its cheaper. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371031
$300 graphics card and 1024x768 monitor holy shit what

If you are planning on having your machine under moderate to heavy load for, oh, I'd say 4 hours a day, I would recommend looking at gold rated PSUs. The efficiency difference will pay for the price difference in relatively short order. Also, your system doesn't appear to need a full 650 watts. I'd like someone to verify that because I may be overlooking something though.
550w capstone $75
modular 55w capstone $85
I'd reccomend modular. Its worth 10 dollars not to have a rats nest in the bottom of your case.
If you do need the additonal power, the 750m is the same price as the 650m for some reason. 750m $110
I'd get this, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151093.
That's bronze.
Woops, my bad.
That's bronze.
Doesn't really matter at that wattage.
