The thing is, I haven't used my Xbox 360 in like 4 years. I updated it yesterday using a friends copy of Halo Reach. It's not got the Brand new Dashboard but it's got the one that introduced avatars. So It's been updated from the very first Dashboard to a more recent one.
Thing is, It was hacked, the origonal first hack that required a certain Disk Drive. The hack stopped working hence why I stopped using it after getting a PS3.
My question is, will the update of scrubbed the hack off the firmware? I would like to use Xbox Live but I don't want to risk getting banned straight away. Do they block your IP or is it just the Machine that gets blocked?
Thanks.
Since Micro$oft don't want you to hack your Xbox it will most likely have wiped any hacks or modifications during the firmware update. If the hack stopped working then it most likely isn't there anymore, you should be able to use Xbox live fine.
Okay, thanks. The hack stopped working of it's own accord, it wasn't caused by a System update and seen as we never used the thing we thought, why not update it, it does't seem to work anyway.
I'm not confident on it lasting long seen as it's a launch console but Xbox Live would be nice seen as none of my friends use PSN.
