Hey Facepunch, I've taken a big dive into Clothing, Fashion and Style since I went to university, so I thought it'd be appropriate to make a thread where fashion lovers can congregate to discuss the above topics. "Why is fashion important?" I hear you cry? I find that wearing trendy clothing is a huge relaxant to me personally, and I think it serves as a big confidence booster. Wearing a great suit for example can make you feel a lot more confident when it comes to delivering speeches. Your reasons might be different, or you may be indifferent, whatever makes you happy really. I think fashion is also a personal statement of your personality when worn for the right reasons. "Clothing is a waste of money" say ye? I disagree, you can get tons of great clothes cheaply. Whilst I myself am quite brand concious, I do know that a lot of cheaper clothing shops exist where good quality clothing can be found. "I don't care" you reply? Great, I created this thread for people who are interested in clothing, much like I created the original Cars Thread for people interested in motors. Hopefully it'll grow as well as that one did, and we can get some serious discussion going. Now, for the thread itself. I'll use catwalk shots from Style.com, the site is an amazing resource for all things in trend and style. SUITS/Sports Jackets I am a massive suit fan, and as a student, I only own one suit currently (due to price). When I am a professional in whatever field I enter, I seriously hope to expand my suit collection to hold masses of insane quality suits, because I think they just look fantastic. D&G have some impressive jackets lined up in the Spring 2011 (which encompasses Summer) catwalks. Givenchy have an two awesome suits I've got my eyes on too, take a look: The black ones texture is truly awesome, and the white one is one of the best cuts I've ever seen. Casual Wear Going to cover a few sections here. Tops I own a load of superdry tees and polos which are the main focus of my day-to-day casual wear. Stuff like this: Clothing, Images from Superdry I love the brand because there stuff is typically really well fitting, and for thin, tall people, they look fantastic. I also like the brand hollister because there clothes are really affordable, ye the brand is immensely strong. I wear stuff like this for nights out usually: Clothing, Images from Hollister Bottoms/Jeans I almost always wear jeans cause I love em. I think more money should be spent on a good pair of jeans, simply down to manufacturing quality, and cut. Personally my favourite jeans are black slim, Levis 511's to be precise. Clothing, Images from ASOS I'm not a fan of tight skinny jeans, especially on guys, or light blue jeans (excluding shorts) but I guess that's personal opinion. Shoes One of my favourite items of clothing is shoes. I very much think you get what you pay for when you buy a pair of shoes because they take a lot of wear so that justifies the typically higher price for better quality shoes. My personal favourite casual shoes are Nike Dunks, of which I own several pairs. I love these shoes because of the hundreds of unique designs they create, and think they are very definitive. My favourite pair, are these Nike Destroyer Dunks I imported into the UK from the USA: And I also own these rarer Dontrelle Willis Dunks from 2006: Wearing these shoes in the UK is pretty awesome because Nike only sell limited quantities of pairs and at a maximum of one design per shop so this adds to the rarity and uniqueness (or so I've found). I get my shoes from Flight Club NY because they have a huge selection of Dunks. The shop works differently from most, in that they have limited stock of various styles and the stock they have changes by the minute. Prices vary by style and size. I usually get my clothes from ASOS as it's most convenient, however I love browsing and buying in Shopping malls too. Thanks for reading.
Wearing Hollister and Superdry isn't being fashionable, that's what every hipster teen wears. :colbert:

I wear brandless one-color t-shirts and plain, un-worn blue jeans from Wal-Mart. EDIT And I look fucking gorgeous.
I like those shoes best when they're on your head Scopey.
Clothes are meant to be worn. Hipsters pay extortionate amounts of cash for clothing. We don't. :colbert:
Personal opinion is more important than following trends, also it's less expensive. That's the philosophy I follow in the subject of clothing.
Graphics tees arn't fashionable. [editline]03:21PM[/editline] Also hollister isn't what hipsters wear. It's what douches wear. But keep in mind girls go for the douches most of the time.

I like clothes.
Clothes are meant to be worn. Hipsters pay extortionate amounts of cash for clothing. We don't. :colbert:
I buy stuff that I deem worth the pricetag. A car analogy. Why buy a Diesel Peugeot 106 from 1994 when you can afford a BMW M3.
Have you seen UNIQLO's hot idea for Autumn/Winter 2010? MEGGINGS BAHAHAHA :v:
I buy stuff that I deem worth the pricetag. A car analogy. Why buy a Diesel Peugeot 106 from 1994 when you can afford a BMW M3.
Because it's a damn cool car?
Hipsters buy clothes that already look worn, but they don't want to ruin them/wear them out. Why?
Because it's a damn cool car?
Cooler car > cool car. Stop trying to be a smartass. [editline]08:27PM[/editline]
Hipsters buy clothes that already look worn, but they don't want to ruin them/wear them out.
Cooler car > cool car. Stop trying to be a smartass.
Who's the smartass? You. Lots of people including me think older cars often look better, with their non-aerodynamic/boxy design.
None of the clothes I posted look worn at all.
All of the clothes you posted look pretentious, stupid and unnecessary.
I usually get my clothes from ASOS as it's most convenient, however I love browsing and buying in Shopping malls too.
So you're a gay?
Besides, I've never seen a raincoat as cool as this one:
Black with the company name on the back? You don't get out much do you?
Hollister. Clothing for assholes.
I don't care what anyone says but American Eagle and Hollister make quality shit If you beg to differ you've obviously never owned clothes from either store
ITT: massive controversy over clothes
Also hollister isn't what hipsters wear. It's what douches wear. Yeah there are 'douchebags' out there who get girls, but you should probably look a bit deeper into it before making the assumption that everyone who gets girls is automatically a douchebag.
Haha. I just looked at Superdry and it's nothing more than an expensive Old Navy.
Black with the company name on the back? You don't get out much do you?
Actually I like the triple zip design, the fabric hands with thumb-holes, the immaculate stitching, and the multiple styles available. Nice job using my own opinion on the best looking raincoat as a reason why I "don't get out much".

Nothing wrong with Old Navy, I just don't know why you'd pay four times as much for a t shirt that looks the same.
plaid flannel black or gray skinnies/slims vans classics my usual attire.
