PlayStation 4 could be revealed earlier than E3 2013 in June, according to Sony Home Entertainment VP Hiroshi Sakamoto. Speaking to emol.com at CES last week, Sakamoto broke company protocol to address questions regarding Sony's next-gen console. "That's still a big secret," he is reported to have said when asked whether Sony will unveil its new model in the next few months. "But our friends are preparing PlayStation. I can only say that we are focused on the E3 gaming event, scheduled for June. Announcement may be in that minute or even earlier in May." When asked whether the company was preparing a "big announcement" or "something additional", Sakamoto replied "probably the first." "In that time we expect to deliver great news, but we must wait until May at least." The quotes are translated from the original Spanish, though they line up with strong rumours that both Microsoft and Sony will unveil their next-gen consoles this year. PlayStation declined to comment when approached by CVG. According to a report on tech site SemiAccurate last month, PlayStation 4 is likely to be released in the spring or autumn of 2014. The site also claimed to have heard from Japanese speaking sources that Sony's next-gen console project is codenamed Thebes, rather than the previously rumoured Orbis. SemiAccurate also backed up another recent report which claimed that PS4 features an AMD CPU and GPU. Final developer kits will reportedly be delivered to studios this summer. Sony Computer Entertainment declined to comment on this report. The the heck is going on with that controller?
The the heck is going on with that controller?
its just a concept/mock up. Considering the past 3 systems it most likley will look similar to the dualshock3
I hope they keep it the same. The Dualshock is a very good controller.
The the heck is going on with that controller?
It looks practically the same except it has a clear middle section.
I hope they won't be chanting "599 US DOLLARS".
-snap-
It should continue using bluetooth and support PS3 controllers. That would be neat.
Time to start saving up. Probably won't release until Spring 2014 at the earliest.
I'm pretty sure it's fake. The D-pad looks a bit wrong, and the symbols on the keys are off too, especially the O
It's clearly a fan mockup jeez.
The Dualshock is a very good controller.
But it's tiny.
I'm pretty sure it's fake. The D-pad looks a bit wrong, and the symbols on the keys are off too, especially the O
Every single image on the internet of the ps4 is fake.
E3 2013 will be pretty awesome
Time to start saving up. Probably won't release until Spring 2014 at the earliest.
I'm honestly expecting both next-gen systems to be released before the end of this year.
E3 2013 will be pretty awesome
Don't get your hopes up. Remember the Wii U "announcement"?
The reason the mockup photo of the controller is clear in the center is probably due to the breakaway controller patent Sony filed for.
I'd personally love to see a controller like that but with the center being stainless steel.
The reason the mockup photo of the controller is clear in the center is probably due to the breakaway controller patent Sony filed for.
What, this? :v:
Don't get your hopes up. Remember the Wii U "announcement"?
.. But thats Nintendo, not Sony or Microsoft.
.. But thats Nintendo, not Sony or Microsoft.
No shit sherlock. I was just giving an example of a shitty announcement.
I'm very uninterested in this console because it will not accept used games. Used games are all I have for console it also the only reason I own any.
No shit sherlock. I was just giving an example of a shitty announcement.
And that stops us from getting excited for (finally) getting a new console after like 7 years. Yeah Nintendo fucked up the announcement but as far as i look back at the 360 and PS3 the announcement was pretty decent.
I hope they keep it the same. The Dualshock is a very good controller.
The best controller in the world would probably be the Dualshock with the stick placement of the Xbox 360 controller.
The best controller in the world would probably be the Dualshock with the stick placement of the Xbox 360 controller.
Do you have unsymetrical hands or something?
I'm very uninterested in this console because it will not accept used games. Used games are all I have for console it also the only reason I own any.
yes it will
I'm very uninterested in this console because it will not accept used games. Used games are all I have for console it also the only reason I own any.
It will accept used games. Sony would be the only one doing it and sony being alone in the no used games department will kill the PS4. I'll eat my ps3 controller if PS4 doesn't do used games upon launch.
Do you have unsymetrical hands or something?
No, just fairly large ones so holding a PS3 controller is like do-able but just not quite optimal. Honestly, the 360 controller just feels better in my hands.
Xbox 360 controller with the Dualshock d-pad. One can dream.
Except for this of course. The d-pad on the 360 controller sucks unprecedentedly huge dicks.
Xbox 360 controller with the Dualshock d-pad. One can dream.
Xbox 360 controller with the Dualshock d-pad. One can dream.
I still don't know why they haven't moved to 4 separate buttons rather than the solid plastic cover we have now.
