The Atlantic Wire has learned that ww5.komen.org, has always been the organization's website(and it still is today)--this also sort of debunks Gather's previous theory (below), meaning that the "hack" could have possibly been an alteration of one of the site's banners not the entire website. Update 9:42 a.m. According to a report from Gather, it appears that for a brief moment last night people trying to visit the Komen website last night were redirected. For the few that accessed the site around 12:30AM on Thursday, they were redirected from the regular site (www.komen.org) to an artificial site made by the hackers (ww5.komen.org). The job was so inclusive that even in search engines, you were only able to find the hacked site. Original: Hackers got ahold of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation's website late last night, altering its copy to to read: "Help us run over poor women on our way to the bank"--a blunt take on the organization's decision to pull funding from Planned Parenthood. Komen had cited "eligibility" and "grant strengthening" as the reason to drop Planned Parenthood, but many believe the defunding was driven by politics. We've placed a call to the Komen organization to get official word on the hack, but it seems a few of our Facebook friends and favorite tumblrs began noticing the hack shortly after midnight Thursday. This is what the ad is supposed to look like:
http://www.theatlanticwire.com/national/2012/02/susan-g-komen-foundation-website-was-hacked-last-night/48192/
That was the hardest I've laughed in weeks. :v:
I went into this outraged, and came out lol'ing.
The job was so inclusive that even in search engines, you were only able to find the hacked site.
The ignorance is astounding.

I laughed 'till I choked on a hash-brown.
I bet they didn't see that komen.
The organization started off meaning well, but ever since they went copyright crazy with the words "the cure" they started suing other smaller independent charities for fighting cancer when they would make fund raisers using "the cure". It's turned into a money racket.
First time I ever seen this "Susan G. Komen"

I Komen here expecting a lot more jokes with that name :v:
First time I ever seen this "Susan G. Komen"
I've only heard of her because my grandma was into a lot of breast cancer awareness groups because she was a multiple time survivor :v:
That marathon sounds fun. I'd love to run it if it wasn't in the middle of winter.
Susan G Komen. Now that's a name I haven't heard in a long time since I ate Yoplait.
