• December build £650-£700 budget

After seeing how low cost the parts are at my local computer store, it flipped the switch on weather to build or buy. OS: Windows 7 Oem ( £100 guess) Total: £643 (want to push cost down) So, facepuch, can you improve on my build? I plan to use this build for source gaming Should I use AMD or Intel, Nvidia or ATi?
EZCOOL aren't very well known, go with a power supply from someone like OCZ, Corsair, Coolermaster, etc. The C2Q 8***'s are shit, go with a higher end Intel quad or a Phenom II. Don't get a GTX260, get a 4870 or 4890; cheaper and faster. Finally, go with 4Gb RAM, RAM is so dirt cheap it will barely make any difference to the final price. By the way, why not buy online? This shop of yours seems quite expensive (e.g. You can get 4Gb RAM online for less than 2Gb in your shop).
EZCool is a pretty bad brand and I'd say 4870 and you go with whatever's best for the price, not limiting yourself to a single brand [editline]08:59PM[/editline] and yeah don't bother with a Q8_ [editline]09:02PM[/editline] http://www.ebuyer.com/product/135101 Coolermaster is a good brand for cheaper PSUs and this'll save you a bundle [editline]09:03PM[/editline] you could easily drive the price down by just buying online
ok, I have updated it and added extras due to price lowness
Op are you buying this in December like the title says.
yes, that why I didnt chose products with offers
You can get a AMD Phenom II 955 for around the same price as that C2Q Q9400, and I expect you could find a similarly priced motherboard to match the socket.
ok, I have updated it and added extras due to price lowness
This build is rubbish. (Graphics card is crap, Processor is kinda old now, much better out now) Especially if you have a £700 budget. You can build an awesome PC for that amount.
come back in december, prices will change by then, how did I miss that also overpriced RAM, pretty bad GPU, MoBo is way too cheap, CD drive not DVD, no PSU, it's just pretty bad in general
yes, that why I didnt chose products with offers
You will be able to get a much better computer in December cause technology prices plummet in a single month.
I have followed your advice and changed some parts. How could I have missed the PSU Since I am 12, some of the parts will be ordered by my parents before Christmas and that might be earlier than december
Still wait until about a week to make a build.
Shall I update the build as time passes and if I was to buy this build right now, how good would it be?
There is no way this thread will live until christmas and how good the build doesn't matter now because you are not buying it now.
just let it die
I'd build you something, but pricing is probably going to change drastically during the christmas period.
So would it be better to ask about mid november? ( about the build I planed )
No, come back within the week of purchase.
Your GFX card is DVI, your monitor is VGA, you will need a converter. Saw the third photo, where'd your monitor go? Still make sure your monitor and GFX card match.

Updated build

Get a Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB. It's about £55-60 and it's one of the best performing mechanical disks out there. But yeah like you say they will be on the PSU too.
