Basically, i have no idea what i should get. I have put together two similar builds, but one is slightly cheaper than the next , about $100, and i was wondering what kind of real world difference i would really see. Some info about my computer habits. I usually surf the web and game, and on occasion i will edit pictures and fool around in 3D programs. I also constantly have iTunes up. But mostly i use my computer for gaming and i do intend to overclock my hardware. So the thing i really cant decide between is the i7 930 or the 1055T. In either case i intend to overclock to 4Ghz, and i know that if i went with the 930 i would be able to upgrade to a hex core. But honestly i dont know if i would upgrade in the future. I bought my current rig with intentions to upgrade down the road, but i just ended up building an entirely new rig. TLDR: i7 930 @4Ghz vs 1055T @4Ghz real world difference that i will notice. No intention of upgrading down the road, but its possible.
Do not get a 6 core.
Also, the reasoning for your answer would be much appreciated. Remember that i wont be upgrading for quite some time as well.
whats your budget?
Well, 1500, but i would like to keep it under that. Also, i know i could build a computer for under that, but i intend to use an SSD for a boot drive, and a TB storage drive. As well as a Zalman CNPS CPU cooler. If asked i could post up the two builds. Also doing most of my purchasing from Newegg.com.
1500 dollars?
Yes sorry, but i would like to keep it as low as possible. Right now, the AMD build is about 150$ cheaper, and that actually makes a bit of a difference to me. Also, which board would be better for overclocking, or are they about the same?
