I couldn't decide whether to post this here or in GGD. Please note i'm not trying to brag or sound like a Skyrim pro or something.
I've been noticing a lot of people all over the web posting things like "What should I do when playing on Master" or "What's a good place to level up for Master" and i'm wondering why special techniques were needed for this difficulty.
When I got Skyrim, I didn't even notice a difficulty setting until around level 12, and I had been playing normally up to that time. I finally realized I had been playing on Master when a friend was talking about how fun the game is on Novice. The game at this time seemed fair and challenging like a game should.
The main question is: Am I playing on a difficult setting, or is this how the majority of players play and enjoy Skyrim?
I got about half way through before I realised I could change the difficultly so I left it on Adept.
i think master
Novice. I like to roleplay my game.
It's not really a fair difficulty system. Optimized characters can breeze through master, and unoptomized ones can have serious trouble at adept.
I use Adept, mostly because I'm used to it. Easier and I could one-shot the Bandit Chiefs with a single utterance of Yol, harder and I'd have trouble with the lowliest of Draugr.
It depends. When I'm using my character that has 10 self-imposed restrictions, I play on Novice. Otherwise, Apprentice or Adept.
Its not hard on Master even. Dragons & most enemies can still be killed by companions (espeacialy mages) and you can basicaly fast heal through all their attacks. It got to the point i just let Marcurio and my Storm Atronach kill everything as i ran in circles healing. The most difficult enemies on master are those with the frost spell specificaly because that spell is OP anyway.
Adept.
Expert with mage characters, Master with everyone else.
Master, because let's be honest; you become completely OP pretty fast. Especially with sneak+bow.
Nightmare mode.
Master because it just doesn't seem challenging at any less because of how OP you become.

why would that mean you need to play it on the easiest difficulty?
Master + DeadlyDragons Hardcore
Hell on Earth.
I play on Adept, and never anything else. I like to assume that the game is balanced well enough that all types of characters can survive on Adept. Of course, some characters do better than others, and may even become "overpowered." However, I don't believe in becoming "overpowered."
If I improve my Smithing level to 100 and smith Dragonplate Armor, then improve it to "Legendary" status at level 30, I've earned my 560 armor rating fair and square. I'm not trying to argue with anyone, though. That's just my opinion.
havent played it but if I ever get to I'll probably play the easiest difficulty cause I'm bad

because I'm a sissy and my goddess doesn't take shit from anyone.
also why when my foes take 200 sword swipes to the face. It doesn't make sense
I play on either apprentice or adept.
Adept, it's nor too easy or too difficult.

Lol novice is stupid.
And can't say that I disagree with the roleplaying part, Adept is a good difficulty for eased out playing.
Adept with the WiS mod on Dark age difficult.
It get's hard as fucking shit when I try to fight 7 frost mages, slowing me down while they take my stamina away as well.
