• Microsoft Word 2008 opens, then crashes

I just installed Office 2008, and I can open all the applications fine except for word. When I open word, it loads up, freezes for a moment then crashes. I checked the console and one line is repeated several time: "Jan 14 16:43:16 felix-svenssons-mac-pro Microsoft Word[899]: CGBitmapContextGetData: invalid context", and after those there is one additional error: "Jan 14 16:45:05 felix-svenssons-mac-pro com.apple.launchd[86] ([0x0-0xf90f9].com.microsoft.Word[905]): Stray process with PGID equal to this dead job: PID 908 PPID 1 Microsoft Error " I've tried rebuilding the font cache and reinstalling office several times, but it won't work. What should I do?
Don't know how relevant this is, but OS X Version?
Don't know how relevant this is, but OS X Version?
Microsoft Office 2008 is the latest mac version.
Don't know how relevant this is, but OS X Version?
Yes, there is no 2008 version for windows
What version of OS X are you using? It seems to be a graphics issue.
10.5.2
10.5.2? Why don't you update to 10.5.8?
Because I always accidentally stop the download before it's done
Nevermind, I fixed it by turning off Quartz GL
You had QuartzGL on? Get back to the Quartz debugger right now and turn your DPI down, it's awesomeness.

Oh fuck yeah, I installed service pack 1 and now it can run fine with Quartz GL enabled! :v:
What is Quartz GL? I've heard about it.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quartz_Compositor#QuartzGL It causes window contents to be rendered using OpenGL rather than the window being composited in software and then uploaded as a texture (which is Quartz Extreme). This will usually boost performance
