• Hillarious tragedy in Tbilisi, Georgia

After a heavy rain on saturday night, the flood emerged at the lowest part of the city, where the zoo is located. Half of the animals died while predators like wolfs, lions, tigers and alligators were able to escape, and now are roaming on streets of luxurious districts. There are multiple reported deaths. All caretakers are dead , the zoo is 100% destroyed. I once knew the son of zoo's owner. Hopefully, the guy won't kill himself. I hope, you guys understand that I tried to delete that "hilarious" from title. I did not really mean it. The reason I put that on the title was to stress it , while the true meaning was quiet opposite . You guys. Here's an update: There are about 6 lions, up to 10 zebras, 7 wolfes, and other animals are dead. Unfortunately, about 12 people of whom 3 were zoo caretakers have died as well. Volunteers from all over the city are working on this. This is very sad because only tragedy can unite people. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-33125879 Please ignore "hilarious" on the title. It had opposite meaning.
Doesn't really seem very hilarious to me
I am all for a bit of dark comedy but this is pretty grim tbh.
Hillarious is there for a reason, only Georgians will take it properly
Probably should post a source: http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-33125879
Holy shit, it's not every day you see a Hippo eating from a tree on the high street
Holy shit, it's not every day you see a Hippo eating from a tree on the high street
You haven't seen shit.
Holy shit, it's not every day you see a Hippo eating from a tree on the high street
I was more focused on the lady slapping its arse with a branch. Even with a tranquilliser sticking out of it, a hippo is NEVER a thing you want to piss off. Those things can be murder on four legs.
This is something from a Naked Gun movie
Hopefully , the government will spend more funds to improve the canal system.
I'm a sadist myself but wtf dude
I'm a sadist myself but wtf dude
The "hilarious" had Tragi-sarcastic meaning
So a zoo floods, tons of people are dead, animals are roaming around the city and it's hilarious? I don't understand this at all
Hillarious is there for a reason, only Georgians will take it properly
Are there even other Georgians on Facepunch? I'd like a second opinion.
Georgian humour guys ahah
Did the animals kill any humans? [editline]14th June 2015[/editline] A lion died. :(
"All caretakers are dead" "hilarious" I don't see the connection.
Georgian humour guys ahah
with that logic obviously everyone was in tears laughing when the Russians invaded back in 2008. This is just sick tbh, there is a limit. [editline]14th June 2015[/editline]
"All caretakers are dead" "hilarious" I don't see the connection.
going to be hard rounding up the animals with people that are most likely not trained to work with them, they'd probably have to get the army to sort it out.
going to be hard rounding up the animals with people that are most likely not trained to work with them, they'd probably have to get the army to sort it out.
Im guessing that's why it said some of the animals were killed.
Don't think you chose the right words OP, not very funny at all.
OP, you're an asshole.
This is extremely tragic, nothing at all about this situation is hilarious. It'd be funny if it flooded and the animals escaped and mingled in the streets, it's not funny when half the animals and all of the zookeepers are dead.
Oh dear, so much moralism bullshit coming from you guys, its incredible. The incident, in hindsight, is hilarious - Georgia has a tropical climate and is prone to a fuckload of rains, the fact that this fact was overlooked is funny and the situation after is funny. The tragedy of people and animals dying is not. How hard it is for you to understand? [editline]14th June 2015[/editline]
Are there even other Georgians on Facepunch? I'd like a second opinion.
My dad got a chuckle when he read about it, I myself don't really care. Both Georgians, yes.

how the fuck did that bear get up there
If you have to explain why it's funny it's probably not funny.
Funny =! "oh my god lmao ahahahaha hilarious sorry i lost it hard". It may as well give you a slight chuckle. Bah, I don't even see why I'm explaining this to you, tis not my problem.
how the fuck did that bear get up there
Kinda looks like that's where the water levels got to.
how the fuck did that bear get up there
Have you seen bears climbing trees? They're insanely adept at traversing landscape.
'hilarious' yeah sure hilarious [editline]15th June 2015[/editline] Do you live in Tbilisi or somewhere else? I've got family in Tbilisi and shit is fucked up hard in a non funny way [editline]15th June 2015[/editline] tbh to find this funny you really have to be one of those edgy teenagers that think they're so cool and epic
The worst part - this happened due to ignorance of Saakashvili, as he ordered to build bridges in this area, and refused to listen to dangers of flooding it could provide.
