[QUOTE]The cockpit voice recorder from the EgyptAir plane that crashed last month has been found in the Mediterranean, Egyptian investigators say.
The "black box" was damaged and had to be pulled out in several stages but its memory unit is intact, they said.

Ahh, good, we should know what happened to this one once they've cracked open those memory banks. Any idea on the memory from the flight data recorder?

Data recorder hasn't been found yet. The battery emitting the signal from the data recorder is expected to die in about a week as well.

It shouldn't be that far away. Now that they found the debris field they can basically spend all their time combing over it until they find it.
If they found the debris they could also have access to the QAR

Now the real fun begins.
These always fascinate me hopefully it isn't withheld from the public for ages like some have been.
Remind me, they never found even half of the wreckage, right?

well the times that the flight recorders aren't turned over its usually when someone has shot down an airliner by accident.
in this case it might take a long time because the recorders themselves were in deep water, were damaged, and need to be carefully processed before any useful information can be downloaded
