There's only a video in the article, and no pictures. So have a picture of Brazil.
NEW YORK - Japanese researchers on Tuesday said they discovered a large slab of granite deep in the Atlantic Ocean and suggested a continent may have once existed off the coast of Brazil.
(Rest of the article in link here) I honestly think this is pretty cool, and I am hoping that there are more finds like this and Doggerland over the course of this year.
theyre lying, that would imply the earth is billions of years old. the earth is only 6000 years old.
Scientists led by the Japan agency for marine Earth science and technology found the cliff, measuring 10-feet high and 10-feet wide, nearly 3,000-feet below the surface of southern Atlantic
Maybe a few hundred million years ago it was something a little more interesting.
theyre lying, that would imply the earth is billions of years old. the earth is only 6000 years old.
Haha. oh man, creationists :)
theyre lying, that would imply the earth is billions of years old. the earth is only 6000 years old.
No you dingus its 2013 years old obviously
Maybe a few hundred million years ago it was something a little more interesting.
I think it's still really awesome, it's just not always that easy to stumble over the interesting things every day.
They're going to investigate, and somewhere, in some long forgotten language, ancient glyphs will read: "gib mone pls" [editline]12th May 2013[/editline] Somewhere in the distance, the underwater echo of "HUEHUEHUEHUEHUEHUE!"

It's almost as if you were Russian or something.
Not to be pedantic, but aren't ALL continents segments of Pangaea?
Everyone, please, we're getting off-topic here and missing the really important question. Are there dinosaurs there, and can we turn the place into a theme park? [editline]13th May 2013[/editline] (I mean underwater type dinosaurs, or perhaps underwater caves for the regular dinosaurs to live in) [editline]13th May 2013[/editline] (or maybe dragons, I hope there's dragons)
I thought according to Continental Drift(If my memory serves correctly) it was all already once part of Pangea? I'm confused.
theyre lying, that would imply the earth is billions of years old. the earth is only 6000 years old.
ITS IS 6000 YEARS OLD, IT WAS THE GREAT FLOOD, WITH THAT ARC AND SHIT. Totaly not just making up shit right now.
Haha. oh man, creationists :)
whoosh
what religion is it where you believe the world began when you were born and ends when you die? If it isn't taken, I'm using this idea for myself :-)
So is this what is left of Atlantis?
I thought according to Continental Drift(If my memory serves correctly) it was all already once part of Pangea? I'm confused.
they probably mean the "land" was above water while it was still pangea. since then it has been underwater.
Not to be pedantic, but aren't ALL continents segments of Pangaea?
In a way, yes all continents are segments of Pangaea. But Pangaea's segments are not all continents; a lot of earth was actually put underwater when Pangaea split. Hence why this slab was found, if it is really a Pangaean artifact.
