good short game.
probably not worth $6 unless you enjoy spending 1.50 bucks per hour of entertainment, because this game is 4 hours long even on the hardest difficulty.
It's a pretty good game, but one of the endings, the one most people pick, is total bullshit.
It's definitely worth 6 dollars. I got it full price and it was worth it. It's just crazy nonstop fun. And you can play through it twice and invest your points into different categories.
There's also a 4-player co-op campaign though that is the epitome of short. Probably an hour or 2 on that.

I'm going to keep it vague.
[sp]The one where you stay, or leave?[/sp]
The [sp]choice wasn't even bullshit. It was pretty obvious that there was something wrong with the whole scenario, I chose to leave on my first playthrough.[/sp]

[sp]The Hell ending is pretty lame though, it's pretty much a sequel hook. The game just ended right there, right when the (pretty boring) story was starting to kind of pick up.[/sp]
Still kinda sucks that they went away from the "gritty-real" style of the first game

The second game is hella gritty what you talking about.
It felt a bit "arcady" to me
And I never really bonded with the characters in this one, they were kinda boring
If you compare moments with your Uncle and Jenny from the first game, it knocks it outta the park

The obvious [sp]"are you fucking kidding me something is hella fucking wrong I'm jumping"[/sp] ending.
Superb game definitely try it out if you can. I recommend using a controller for it too, works really well with the control scheme
Great game. Fantastic gameplay and art direction. Where is my sequel, 2K?

Digital Extremes too busy milking Warframe
I still want to play the first, wish that had made it to PC

I remember playing the demo, it was so much more atmospheric, and breaking [sp]the lights and stuff was actually cool and it kinda mattered, while the Darkness 2 has mutant soldiers, blah, so lame.[/sp]
First game was still my preference, regardless of how authentic it was. I just enjoyed the more human side to it.
Second game is alright. It loses a bit of the story flair in my books, but it does what most sequels do, and amps up the gameplay factor considerably. Worth 6$.
I advise you hook up a controller for this. It's so much more fun with a controller.
light in 2 is also a big part, it cuts off health regen and blinds you
also the brotherhood was part of the comic, things get more comicy from there
It's too bad he game defines light as "spotlights and street lights and nothing else" Most of the interior levels you could just walk through using the Darkness without worrying about the lights all over the place. There are also the times when you're outside and standing in what should be a shadow but the game arbitrarily decides you're somehow in the light. Compared to the first game the light/dark system was almost broken in 2.
I just remember the demo being really dark and atmospheric, while most levels in the Darkness 2 are brighter than they should be from what I remember, or maybe that was because I had bumped up the brightness setting, I remember the [sp]cemetery[/sp] being pretty lit though, I'm just so dissapointed we'll never see the Darkness 1 on PC, or a sequel for that matter, the Darkness series could be pretty popular if they treated it better.
