Hello, in about 2 days i'm going to take the final test in Cisco CCNA. I would like to hear if anyone here has taken it, and what i should read extra about. I know that there will come alot of subnetting, but what else should i take care of?
Also isn't this a kind of technical question?? Since Cisco is about our network.
iOS, They love there iOS questions.
Isn't that in chapter 11? We got told by our teacher that we didn't need to finish that before the test. Am i screwed?
Google the answers.
That's what basically 90% of our class does.
Ehm, there's someone watching me while i do the test.

I want to do this without cheating. It's a big part of my future job and i'd like to get some "other" tips
Are you doing the very final test? Or the final test of the first Semester of Network Fundamentals?
First semester.
Oh, There's no actual way of telling what you will get I think. Theres about a bank of 500 questions made up of each chapter. The system picks out 50 from these randomly. Benjojo is correct though, I remember getting quite more chapter 11 command line based stuff than the other questions. Aswell as quite a fair bit of subnetting questions like you have mentioned.
Though yea you definetley should look over Chapter 11 or atleast become familiar with the different commands and user modes.
God damn, why the hell did our teacher mention that we could do chapter 11 later.
Have you done the practical skills test yet?
Only the subnetting one
For the first semester I only needed to do 1 practical assessment. Which was basically subnetting and creating the addressing scheme. Setting up 3 small networks. Can't remember exactly what it included. 2 routers , 2 switches and 2 PC's I think.
Then I had to configure the routers by the command line on Packet Tracer because my college doesn't have enough physical kit to go around. Anyway I just thought that if you had done the same practical assessment as I done you would have covered the content from chapter 11.
What we do:
Complete chapter 1-11(Include tests on ciscos website)
Do subnet test
Do cable test (Make your own ethernet cable)
Do final test
[editline]16th December 2010[/editline]
Just completed chapter 11 /Without doing the packet tracer tests(Maybe i should have done that?)/ Got 67% in the test, which is far the worst i've got yet

Most testing centers don't allow anything in the testing room. When I went to take cert tests, every time I had to empty my pockets and leave my jacket in a locker outside the testing room.
Well! Wish me good luck. In about 9 hours i will be done with the test.
In the later cisco courses they have some terrible analogies. I think those courses don't exist anymore though.
YES! 81,6% correct :D
Thanks for the IOS tip!

Anytime :D
Do you own any cisco switches or routers?
Nope :/. I'd thought about buying one, but aren't they quite expensive?

You can get used ones fairly cheap, though Packet Tracer is cheaper (free!) and you can setup complex and custom things that you could never do with just one router. Though I'm sure if you're taking CCNA you're already familiar with it.
