Here we are again. This time, it's a video based on the song. I tried out the "Convert Audio to Keyframes" option in After FX, it turned out pretty good. [hd]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FTk4XVBwOCU[/hd] After Effects CS4 • 10 visual layers. • 2 audio layers. - One for the actual song, one is the "bass" version to extract keyframes from. • Motion blur (16 samples) • 1280x720 @ 30 fps. • Render time: 26 mins 37 secs. • Length: 2 mins 29 secs. • AMD Phenom II X3 720 Black Edition. (mah new CPU) - OC'd to 3.5 GHz @ 1.456v. Blame the render time on the codec; Windows Media. I used that because it has support for both audio and video in After FX and it looks great when uploaded to YouTube. If anyone wants the original .wmv (83.2 MB 720p HD wif uber quality audio), just tell me and I'll upload it. The workspace (WARNING: 1920x1080 image below) C&C welcomed. Pretty cool. Makes me wish I knew after effects a little better. As far as the actual video goes, it was alright but it got kinda boring after a while since there was no change in color, particle type, etc. Maybe have a bit more going on if you try something like this again? Also it was a little hard to see the effect of the particles linking up with the audio. I could definitely see it, but it wasn't as clear as I think it could've been.

Were you just using particle world because it didn't look like Particular. Form + Any music = makes everything better.
That's cool, I like it a lot. Nice job :)
IMO it was pretty boring and repetive. I guess it was cool for the first 10 secs or something like that, but when it just kept staying at the same angle with the same effects it just got pretty boring. Also i know i've said this at your other vids too, but i just wanna say it again. I don't give a flying fuck what CPU you used and that you overclocked it, neither how many layers the different things have. For me it seems like you wanna show us that you really worked very very hard and you want us to give you credit for that, but it's normal and we just wanna see your video. But well since you've almost just started using AE i think you can get really good at this :)
The particles are too scattered for my liking, if you use enough of them with little variance you get a very nice stream effect whereby the changes in frequency would be more noticeable My assumption is that you've followed the Video Co-pilot tutorial on the subject, and while the effect is nice, you should instead try applying it to a different parameter, for example the intensity of a noise sample or the time-stretch of an animation or the center of symmetry of CC Kaleda Also your background is proper dull. Add in some more 'cloudy' particles to fill out the scene and use some better text
Were you just using particle world because it didn't look like Particular. Form + Any music = makes everything better.
I'm not sure where this differentiation stems from, beside a slightly more intuitive and in depth user interface particle world and particular can be essentially be used in exactly the same way to exactly the same effect with practise Also although it's only a personal choice, I always much prefer output to a quicktime .mov, especially the robust h.264 codec (one of the best codecs to use for upload to youtube if I remember correctly)

Even though YouTube prefers h.264 i find MPEG-4 to be best looking.
No wait that's not right, i just tested them out again and found out that h.264 actually is best.
No wait that's not right, i just tested them out again and found out that h.264 actually is best.
Youtube uses h.264 for its HD video of what I've researched

[editline]12:45AM[/editline] Here's what i did to test it. I was making a video and when rendered a little part of the video to see how it looked i noticed the wood was a little green. 1280/720 I then tried the h.264 codec instead and it looked normal again. 1280/720 If you can't see the difference then try opening these two links and skip between them.
Were you just using particle world because it didn't look like Particular. Form + Any music = makes everything better.
I used CC Particle World, I don't have Particular :(
