Good on him. Should be interesting to see where it goes.
Probably got tired of being told to remake the same type game over and over again.

As far as Ubisoft is concerned he's only credited on AC3 and FC4. That's still 7 years of making "the Ubi game", but not that many of them.

the far cry formula is a good one but good lord it's been like 7 of the same game in a different setting. I don't understand how they've been getting sales after 9 years of "you know what would be neat? far cry 2, BUT IN THE JUNGLE"
The Far Cry 3 team didn't work on 4 right?

It was about half and half, and it was developed by the same division

All I wanted from Far Cry 4 was Far Cry 3 but improved, which is exactly what we got. Blood Dragon was a cheap jokey 80s spinoff sort of game, and Primal tried to do an interesting spin on the series.
I don't see why they need to radically change the game for no reason. Sure, they might give us the equivalent of Resident Evil 4, but they could just as easily give us Ghost Recon: Future Soldier.
id like to see far cry 2 revisited in a sense. the different characters to choose to play as was neat and i liked coming up with my own histories for each as i played. plus the africa setting is super cool and cruising the rivers made me feel like i was in apocalypse now or something. really my only issue with the game were the enemies that had telescopic x-ray vision. being a stealthy sniper felt impossible because the enemies just immediately know where you are once you pop off a shot. i didnt even mind the malaria or the respawning checkpoints, just that telescopic x-ray vision. instead of going more towards the cinematic personal story that 3 and 4 drifted towards, i think far cry oughta try going for a less personal story and go for a more mercenary simulator type game next time. i really liked that i was more or less just some no name merc out to make money in a third world shithole in fc2.
The biggest problem with Far Cry 2's stealth is the lack of explanation. There actually is a stealth system, and if you've played Far Cry 3 or 4 extensively it's not too hard to figure it out, as gigantically flawed as it is.
The enemy AI is a lot deeper than people give it credit for, though it fluctuates so heavily I'm not surprised most people get a shit experience. I've popped off a few shots from behind a concrete wall and then ran off to a vantage point, only to spy a bunch of shotgunners laying down suppressing fire on the wall and someone trying to flank. I've also had occasions where I've stealthed my way to objectives without being discovered, and I find you can stealth snipe with moderate difficulty if you relocate after each shot, because enemies investigate in the direction of the last shot.
One of the coolest things is the AI seems to track where they were shot at from and what with, so if you shoot at them from enough angles with enough weapons and don't get caught you can make them panic and think they're under attack from a whole squad.
That being said, I've also had moments where the AI hasn't realized I've walked straight up to them with a shotgun, just because I was crouching in the rain.
Coming to think of it, it is quite disappointing that Far Cry 2 didn't get a few more months in the oven. Had they combined some of the better missions of the second half with the first half of the game, and cut it to about three fifths its length, it would have been much more eventful and a fuckton less repetitive.
I honestly want them to make another game like AC:Black Flag, that game was fucking awesome and my personal favourite of the series.
