• A few Gfx card questions

Recently I’ve been thinking to upgrade my graphics card (I currently have is a Nvidia 6800 that came with my prebuilt computer), with logic someone would think that the 9800 would be the best one out there from Nvidia, but recently my friend told me that the 8800 performs better than the 9800, my 2 questions are which card is better?, also with the stats below would I get bottle necked? And also what other problems might I run into? (If you need more information just ask for it and ill post it) CPU: Name: Intel Pentium D 830 Specification: Intel(R) Pentium(R) D CPU 3.00 GHz Core VID: 1.388 V Model: 4 Revision: A0 Cores: 2 Motherboard: Manufacturer: Dell Inc. Model: 0YC523 BIOS: Brand: Dell Inc. Version: A00 Graphic Interface: Version: PCI-Express Link With: x16 Max. Supported: x16 Memory: Type: DDR2 Size: 3 GB
Budget? And no, the 9800 isn't the best card from nvidia. [editline]02:28PM[/editline] And the 9800 is better than the 8800, depending on which card type your talking about. [editline]02:29PM[/editline] We need your power supply also.
I'd say, depending on your budget, to get a 4670, 4850, or 4870 1GB.
I had that same computer and I upgraded the GPU and the CPU bottlenecks the shit out of a 9800 GT.
Pentium D's are nasty, amirite?
Ok, well currently my budget is 345$, but it is slowly increasing. For power supply here is what I have given: Voltage: 115 V Current: 6 A Watts: 690 W Hz: 50
Thats quite bad. You will need a new hard drive, because of the amps. Why the fuck did I say hard drive? I meant power supply.
I'd say get a 4670.

[QUOTE=McSanchezV2;16462937]I'd say get a 4670.[/QUOTE] I agree. A 4670 is a awesome card, I can run most RP Maps in GMod with over 100 FPS, on a dell inspirion 530.

[QUOTE=Prismatex;16463594]What are the amps on each rail, specifically the +12V one?[/QUOTE] Ok there is what you would need for the power: Input: 100-120V~11.4A Output: +5 V: 22 A +12 V A: 18 A +12 V B: 18 A -12 V: 1 A +3.3 V: 17 A +5VFP: 2 A
The 4670 will max all source games. [editline]03:40AM[/editline] I personally own one, it'll run basically everything fairly well.
