The fact the it runs ChromeOS is a deal breaker. The hardware design is great.
To be fair, assuming it's like any other Chromebook, it's probably piss easy to unlock it and install a Linux distro (or Windows probably) of your choice.
With it coming with decent amounts of storage by default, that actually makes it seem a lot better.
$1000 is still a bit steep but the base specs are pretty alright.
