Idiots.
I hope his name doesn't get out.
burn more
wow. good job showing complete disrespect.
Not news in the slightest. But that besides, how do people not understand that there's a difference between burning as a protest and burning done out of hate. Burning a flag or even burning the qu'ran as a political or whatever statement is defensible, while doing what the church was doing, burning it because "islam is evil", or more bluntly "fuck you islam", isn't. One's done out of conscious protest, one's done out of mindless hate. And I can't believe that people go "hurp durp they can burn flags why can't we do this". Of course we fucking can, but it's not a real positive thing that they burn flags as a fuck you to america, why would we stoop to that and burn a qu'ran as a fuck you back to them?
:patriot:
ferck yea amurica.
It's still a freedom of speech, so I support it.
Even though I'm a christian, I still would support his reason to burn a bible. Even though I'd be against it.
"Bawwwwww a man uses his freedom of expression to burn a book, bawwwww" Holy hell, does the internet never stop it's cry fest. :sax:
Muslims are trolled easily.

Burning a sacred text (even if you do not believe in what it is saying, or religion at all) is not really defenable in any way IMO, but freedom of speech is important so people should be welcome to do what they wan't to.
But if someone was to burn a bible they sure as hell better not moan.
(I think I just contridicted myself... saying its not defendable and then defending it)
Burning a sacred text (even if you do not believe in what it is saying, or religion at all) is not defendable in any way.
Sure it is, same as burning any other sacred symbol. Why wouldn't it be, just because some people hold it to be more special than another book? There is nothing intrinsically special about any holy book of any religion. I'm just saying burning it as an insult isn't.
It's kind of sad how humans have petty fits over their imaginary figures...

Some ones going to get a Molotov thrown through his window.
Oh boy here we go.

What exactly determines something sacred?
Trust me, Westerners wouldn't care if a bible is burnt, they regularly bash Christianity as it is. People are fucking dumb - its a book made from trees and written with ink, and if you honestly care if someone sets fire to one of the millions of copies of this book - there is something wrong with you or you are incredibly sensitive and don't belong with humanity.

You are right I guess. It just seems "wrong" that people are burning a book that some people hold sacred, and its likeley that they would be in outrage if someone burnt a bible.

But I guess you would gladly burn, say, Mein Kampf? Some fanatic nazis hold it as their sacred text, but I can only guess you would cheer on if that were to happen.
Seriously, why the fuck does FP care so much about a goddamn book? I bet not a single fuck would be given if it was the Torah being burnt, or the Bible. :sax:

I quite like books by Tolkien, but I wouldn't care if someone burned my book about my personal fantasy genre.

I mean a book people hold sacred, nothing can make a book sacred.
And yeah, I have no real concern or care about someone setting fire to a book. It just seems wrong to me that they can use it to gain publicty for something else (not sure if this is the case in this case, I have no sound so I cannot hear the video, but referering to the previous threats of it)

The burning of the book doesn't mean much, it's the message behind it. It's the promotion of the sort of "islam is shit" message that's so prevalent these days that's objectionable/questionable. "Islam(ic countries) have a bad history when it comes to specific rights" is somewhat valid, "ISLAM IS OF THE DEVIL" is not
HEYWHATSYOURNAMESIRWHATSYOURNAMEHEYWHATSYOURNAMEWHATSYOURNAMESIRNAMESIR?
Yeah I'm wondering if any of them got the hint he wasn't going to say anything
Pretty offensive to their culture, here's hoping nobody gets violent over a single book being burnt by a single man.

Book burning is bad in general, but burning one copy of a book is (as someone said) not going to make a difference at all.
And no, I wouldn't cheer people on to burn Mein Kampf, but people should be free to do what they think is right.

If it isn't gonna make a difference, what is the shitstorm about? Or is it just so, that the whole of FP thinks the world will instantly erupt in nuclear war because a book is being burnt, while in reality it's just gonna piss off some people? :sax:

So according to your logic, calling any one group evil is not valid? It's his view, it's what he believes in. You have no right to claim it as good or bad.
Haha, I like how it still has the price tag on the back, symbolically destroying Islam while financially supporting it. Deep.

Not really, one argument has an actual basis to it, the other is calling a religion the perversion of an icon of another religion. It's nonsensical/illogical, not something you could base an argument about.
I thought that the only way to ''properly'' dispose of the Koran is by burning it according to the religion.
So he's not really doing anything other than looking like an idiot.

The shitstorm seems to be coming from (in the media atleast) people who think its going to cause a bunch of terrorists who are just sitting around doing nothing to attack anything and everything American.

So, you are saying that it is OK to dislike a group, as long as it's not religious? or what? I'm not sure i'm getting what you're trying to say here. :sax:

So, the fact that terrorists are already active and don't actually need a reason to attack is completely ignored by everyone? Furthermore, if the correct way of disposing of a Quran is through burning it, why does everyone give a shit? Infact, why does non religious people or people of another religion give a damn if a man chooses to dispose of a book in the proper way? He's just expressing his views, just as much as any other religion is when it comes to questions such as women's right etc but these go unnoticed.

Actually you are supposed to throw it in a river.
