It seems Sony is not happy with the long process of using American civil courts to fight off the PS3 hackers, and have decided to step up the war game to the next level, and have now got the German police on their side to raid early this morning graf_chokolo's home and take all his computers!
The following is some of the quotes taken from his blog:
Guys, SONY was today at my home with police and got all my stuff and accounts. So be careful from now on.

Guys, i don’t joke, it’s serious.
And to prove it, i kept my word and uploaded all my HV reversing stuff.
Upload it everywhere so SONY couldn’t remove it easily. Grab it guys, it contains lots of knowledge about HV and HV procs.
Here is my HV bible: Sendspace.com upload.com 2shared.com <- Coolstuff.rar [164mb]

IDA database is the documentation, it contains all my knowledge, Linux booting is also there. It contains all the code i used to patch HV 3.41 and boot Linux. So, PS3 devs, grab it and continue my work. It contains just everything i know about HV, storage devices and so on.

this is not a scam i emailed graf and he confirmed the posts, and said not to email him anymore, it just seems like a scam due to the way things are playing out, but i swear its 100% not a scam as far as i know

I can say with 99.9999999% percent positivity that its legit, thanks graf(:
What? This is getting ridiculous.
You mad Sony bro?!?
Maybe you jelly? Jelly that someone got past your security?
You want some toast with that jelly?
Why Sony, just stop before you make things bad for yourself.
Worse I should say.
Sony just doesn't seem to get it. The more they try and get out of the mess, the deeper they dig themselves in the already massive hole.
Just like Valve did with Alex Gembe

No Germany Did that themselfs when they heard the FBI was trying to trap him
Why is Sony so upset over people hacking there console? Its not that big a deal.
No Germany Did that themselfs when they heard the FBI was trying to trap him
They actually saved him from willingly going overseas to face much harsher charges, Gembe actually got off pretty light because of it.

Actually it is a pretty big deal. Also I can see why Sony was pissed, but it was basically inevitable to happen.
Wow Sony; first people are able to break into your console. You retaliate by banning. Now they can unban themselves and ban others. And now this.
You're just bending over and spreading your ass open with a big sign that reads "please fuck my ass" next to you.
Anyone know what law he has broken?
One slightly worrying thing about this (if this bit is true)
"SONY was today at my home with police "
Surely if he is being arrested (or just having his computers seized) then it is a matter for the police to deal with and Sony should not be involved?
Anyway, I thought this whole thing was a civil matter not a criminal matter.
Breaking into your console - bad
Getting the cops to break into someone's house - good
Sony's having one hell of a rage fit.
They were not even this mad when the PS2 got cracked open.

Sony has secrets inside the ps3 :tinfoil:

Bracing for impact :tinfoil:

Wasn't there a law recently saying you are allowed to jailbreak an item because you own it and you are free to do what you want with it?
Man, normal cops just weren't scary enough, so they had to use German ones!
Wasn't there a law recently saying you are allowed to jailbreak an item because you own it and you are free to do what you want with it?
That only applies to phones, apparently. Geohot's lawyers are trying to get it to cover the PS3 as well.
Yeah it only covers phones, but the Courts should hopefully use that as a precedent in this case and expand the ruling further.
Oh wow Sony. This shit is crazy.
Hacker: Hey guys I made a modification to my PS3. It can now play games directly from the hard drive
Police:This is the Police! You are under arrest! Drop your keyboard and come with us!
That's what I think
Come on sony, why can't you be a pal like with M$ and kinect?
At least the German police didn't wait for the hacker to wake up from his bed this time.
And wait for him to eat his breakfast.
Microsoft got it and welcomed Kinect hackers. Sony is just too dumb to understand they're just digging their hole deeper.

Kinect hackers have done amazing shit, microsoft probably love them for it. At least the marketing part.
And wait for him to eat his breakfast.
They might of commited a crime, but they're still human. They need to eat.
Oh nice, a company uses a government to force its way... Disgusting. I hope sony gets fucked up the ass.
Im sure that got Sony a lot of new fans. Yep. Smart move there, Sony.
