Melbourne has been named the world's most liveable city for the fifth year in a row, achieving a near perfect score on the Economist Intelligence Unit's (EIU) liveability survey of 140 cities.
The survey rated cities out of 100 in the areas of health care, education, stability, culture and environment and infrastructure.
Melbourne again achieved a score of 97.5, just two-and-a-half points shy of perfection.
Adelaide was ranked in fifth place again with an overall rating of 96.6.

I swear the people who make this judgement are coffee aficionados.
it's weird knowing that the place you live in is arguably one of the most liveable places in the world.
arguable?

as long as you are well off lol
shits getting more expensive and property prices are rising
What's the public transit like there?
What's the public transit like there?
decent. trains/buses come every 30-45 minutes. Trams 10-15 iirc. Prices got cut recently by 50% for a concession. (About $3.40 or so for a full day concession, you can go anywhere on the public transit network)
trams are free in the very inner city loop.
buses are nasty though.

Really interesting to see both Canada and Australia dominate the top cities. Is there a full list available?
Ye tis a pretty good city to live in, apart from all the racists, annoying unemployed protesters and homeless people everywhere.
I like it here

Well Brisbane wins in that regard, we get buses every 15 per line and many have overlapping routes so it's closer to every 10 minutes sometimes.
Brisbane could easily top this list if we just evacuate Pat. and fruxo from Ipswich and burn the place to ground.
who needs buses when you have 250km of glorious tramway

For those not in the know about hook turns, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q4yHR2UmFCI explains it quite well.
Sydney's 7th, but of the top 10 it has the lowest 'Stability' at 90, compared to Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth's 95. I'm curious as to why. Do we just suffer more from road rage or something?
