The continent Artagia (Art-A-gee-uh) as we know it was changed forever after the Hexagon Wars. The metal monsters to the north, the Phrexaks, drove all of the Wheel of Civilization into the center of the world, The Stewpot, reducing it to a barren, hellish land now known as the Blasted Wastes. During the 2nd Hexagon War, a illogically huge chasm inexplicably opened, forming a passageway from the Metal Jungles directly to the Wheel. Before the wars, there existed a multitude of races, cultures, clans, tribes, and all the conflict and feud that goes with those in the center of Artagia, what was known as the Wheel of Civilization. This vast landscape was surrounded on all sides by either savage, unexplored land, vast ocean, desolate desert, or, to the north, the horrible Metal Jungles themselves. With so many conflicting civilizations and species confined to such a small area, chaos descended. Waging a perpetual war with giant, twisted machine of war in the great chasm and surrounded on all sides by unpassable wastes, a new confederacy appears out of the fray... W.H.E.E.L.. The Hexagon Wars finally came an end suddenly, and without precedence. The machines just... stopped acting coherently, stopped following orders, stopped being controlled, but certainly didn't stop killing. What was left of the Wheel immediatly began squabbling and warring among itself for supremacy. Now, the W.H.E.E.L. weakly attempts to control its unstable country of diversity, all the while sending troops into the massive Chasm to fight the now independent, impossibly large, unstoppable JUIOPY destroyer-class robots. Cuneiform Dream: Meeting Mister Mallard/After the Chasm is a comic series I am writing/trying to get off the ground. It involves a man with a Pretzel for a head, a little girl, a Chasm war grunt named Bob, the dubious Mister Mallard, and how their stories will converge. It's also, as of tonight, an interactive. But you don't need to worry about Pretzelhead E. Geraldo or Mister Mallard and why it is so important to meet him. You are in the middle. You are in the after-math of the Hexagon Wars. Cuneiform Dream. This interactive is in a story format, meaning I can't draw so I will write everything out. Sorry, no art. Well, maybe the occasional picture. but don't count on it. I will also post scans of my comic, if I ever get an illustrator for it. WHO THE HELL ARE YOU Well, the beings and creatures that inhabit Artagia are many and varied, almost to your imaginations limit. Orcs, trolls, elves, people with pretzels for heads, changelings, goblins, shadow beasts, pretty much anything. However, you cannot be anything you want to be, so no you can't be all LOLOZORKS IMMA BE AN DRAGON. Here are some basic categories of available creature types: -humanoid (anything the same size or less as a human, but is not magical like a genie. any playable race from DnD. [elf, orc]) -human-like (take a human body and change it in some way, give it a pretzel head, a bear body, etc) -technobreed (humanoid infused with technology, cyborg, fragger, etc.) -chaos being (anything chaos, darkforce beast, chaos spawn, demonic, etc. also changelings and things of that sort) -undead (anything not living, vampire, ghoul, mummy, giant skeleton, etc.) -mutation (any mutated, abhorred twist of these categories you can devise. you must provide full detail of a mutation, however, for it to be acceptable.) -fodder (any tiny, weak, battle-hungry creature that dies easily. [goblins, hordelings]) after you choose one of these classes, I will give you some basic race options, and go from there. If you see a race you want to be similar to, just say so and I will list more like it. EX: list more like 'orc'. OK: Orc, Half-Orc, Goblin, Half-Troll, Kobold, etc. When you select a race, if it has sub-races, I will list those as well. EX: OK, just gimme 'orc'. Sure, the orc subraces are Brassclaw Orc, Blue Orc, Black Orc, Half-Orc, Trollbrother, Gorc, etc. TO BE HERO OR NOT TO BE HERO In the start of the interactive, you can choose to have hero mode on, or off. This means basically you are the chosen one. You aren't all powerful, but you have far more luck than the average man and stand a better change of not being wantonly killed by a missile that wasn't even intended for you. Can only die in an epic circumstance. If you do not have Hero mode, you aren't the average fantasy novel protagonist, you stand a better chance of dying. You have to use your brain, and not just your brawn. WUT YOU SAYIN ABOUT DYING? WOULDN'T THAT END THE THREAD? No. You can either take over on the characters in your team or start over, but as a more powerful character. For instance, if I decided to be thug and not go with Hero mode, got my character to a pretty high level (you won't actually 'level up' as such though), knows a bunch of spells and is killed in an avalanche. Not a very epic death, I know. I then opt to make a new character just as strong as my old one, but as a warrior. That's fine. WHAT DO YOU MEAN NO LEVELING?!? HOW WILL I KILL THE BIG OLD DRAGONS IF I CAN"T GET MAH LEVELS? This interactive will not use the leveling system, meaning you won't get stronger in spontaneous bursts of XP as you kill stuff. Your character will simply get better at a certain thing the more he uses that thing, just like real life. If it pains you too much to let go of leveling, you can just imagine a little 'level up' notice whenever you get better at something. SKILLZ The possible abilities, skills and spells available are many and varied. It all comes back to your your race and class. By the time we get here, you'll have chosen both. Class first. When you choose your race you'll be given some classes to choose from. Some races, like trolls, only have a few. Others, like humans, have many. Classes are things like Medical, Warrior, Rogue, or Freelance. Freelance is your jack-of all trades kind of thing, allowing you to customize your class more thoroughly. After choosing your class you'll get your basic skill choices. You also have a career skills. What were you doing before you became what you are now? Fisherman? Hunter? Potato-monger? Sausage Vendor? All of which give you abilities to use in game. Kid of hard to give info here until you select your race class etc. soo... yeah. It's currently 2:00 where I am so I'm going to bed. You guys can decide on a race I guess. I should be able to update this thread almost every weekday, and either a lot on weekends or not at all on weekends. This Christmas I probably won't be able to update much, but I might be able to. Hopefully we'll get through character creation before that though.
so we can be anything we want to be? [editline]14th December 2011[/editline] nvm last post i just noticed the classes i have an idea for a mutation class: a creature about 5 foot 10 with a katana on the side. He can regenerate everything but to make it fair let the regen take about 1 minute and partial regen (like half arm chopped off) 30-45 seconds. the head can only be partialy damaged because he needs a brain and head (duh) and same with the heart. also the only way to kill it is to either burn it, decapitate it or completely destroy the heart. other wounds that would usually kill a person will slow it down but not kill it. and to add a little storyline he used to be a great samurai but was captured by technobreed and experimented on. he was horribly disfigured by havin a many scars on his face with one long scar going horizontal goin across his nose. also he glows red when he regens. PM me if you like!!!!! or just tell me here......
all of the above?
all of the above?
bigface! ...what do you mean?
so when r u gonna use prpr grmr?[/Q right now. I was in a rush when I wrote that earlier post; I had to do something
Just start the damn thing with a Chaos Being damn it.
what is this place.
An interactive based off of the comic book I am writing. oh shit I thought this died. Chaos being it is.
i was premised comc book wher is comic bok
I'm actually almost done with the first 10 pages! yay me! but back to business: CHAOS BEING The chaos beings have existed since the forming of the world's core, when the gods walked the earth, forming continents and entire cultures with waves of their mighty hands; it is said that they were the ones who first inhabited the nook of all life. They are enigmatic, mysterious beings, just as likely to give you a binding promise as they are to stab you in the back. No one knows their true goals, or if they even have any. They are not ruled by any man, god, or king, but perhaps something more, something that resides far beyond the ether... Chaos beings. A great man once said, "When the day comes that you can understand the Chaos Being, you might as well just fucking kill yourself because you've discovered all their is to know about life." As a matter of fact he was kind of an asshole, but his words rang true. Chaos Beings are ever changing, never resting embodiments of chaos that lived in the shadows of the Wheel of Civilization before the world-shattering Hexagon Wars. They are some of the only creatures that can survive in the blasted wastes, and the only ones who actually do. That's enough of the roleplaying aspect, now for the break down. Chaos beings are adept in magic, but not the type of magic most sentient beings posses. They generally stay away from machines and technology, with the exception of demonite races who carry black-power weapons commonly. However, demonite beings are the most mortal of the bunch, sometimes thought to not even belong in the category. More on them later. Chaos beings don't die in the traditional sense (except for demonites, fuck those guys, right?), but are more like expelled to the Void for who knows how many years. Every chaos being, because of this, is infinitely old and has probably existed since the beginning of time (except for those pussy-ass demonites). Unfortunately, this doesn't mean you can't lose your character. Seeing as, if you die, your character will go out of existence for thousands of years and return as a completely different entity, for every intent and purpose you can die. RACES Here are the playable Chaos Being races, listed from most mortal to least mortal, with a short description. Demonite* - The most mortal Chaos Being, demonites are half-breed demon spawns shunned by their brethren. They have no place in this world, and most end up either wandering the Outlands in bands mugging caravans or enslaved in some overlord's evil legion. Changeling* - Almost mortal, the most connected chaos race to the material world while not being shunned by their peers. These amorphous beings can bend and alter their form at will, either copying someone else's body or creating their own. Chaos Spawn* - Twisted aberrations of the creatures they once were, Chaos Spawns are the result of a humanoid that has undergone chaotic corruption, beyond any hope of return. They could have once been either mad magicians or victims of other, powerful Chaos Beings. Demonic* - Not to be confused with demonite, demonic are the classic interpretation of demons, minions of Satan. They are harbingers of doom, death and destruction, and it is mandatory that they carve their own place in this upside-down world - in blood. Shadow Being/Darkforce Beast - This Chaos Being is incarnate of shadow, a beast of the night. They were said to have been created by magical fallout during the Age of the Gods. Their form is ever shifting, ever changing, much in the way of the Changeling. No two are exactly, even remotely, alike. Star Thing - These things of horrible chaos came burning and screaming from the ether an eon ago. They are the stuff of nightmares, the horrible, unspeakable atrocities that lurk in the deep. They haven't been seen in a thousand years, but the turmoil of the Hexagon Wars may have awakened them... Ethereal Phantasm - There are two sides to every coin, and these creatures are the yang of the darkness. They are undoubtedly the most mysterious of the Chaos Beings, being composed of sheer energy, sheer magic. They cannot have anything to do with tech of any kind. And there you have it. The ones with asterisks have sub-species to choose from after you pick them. This list pretty much goes from easiest to roleplay/most normal to hardest to roleplay/nothing like any other character in a roleplaying game you've played. Sorry for the wait, I didn't think anyone cared about this, lol.
