While it looks far better to hold than the first Vega, I wonder how much better it'll be for playing Spectrum games than something like a modded PSP, GCW-Zero, or the Marvin emulator for Android that lets you access World of Spectrum.

ZX Spectrum joysticks had different standards (Sinclair, Cursor and Kempston) that would correspond to different keys on the keyboard since the computer itself doesn't have native joystick support IIRC so using ABXY could get confusing if a game supports more than one of the above.
The concept of seeing someone in the street playing a portable ZX Spectrum and hearing this horrorshow blaring out of the goddamn thing the whole time is kind of terrifying frankly
