• Build Advice-Gaming/light-Duty Mining 800ish USD

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3xqSY Ok, so my budget for this build is 800 dollars- I am sticking with AMD GPU/APU strictly for mining and the APU is so that I can use integrated graphics to do some very light gaming while my GPU mines(low-intensity of course) Sucggestions on ways to adjust to either save money, or boost performance and save money? It's at about 824 after rebates-Thoughts? I don't know how to paste the sweet build lists y'all always post on here or I wouldn't have permalinked...
You're really going to want at least an a8 for any sort of gaming. And the 750 watt PSU was overkill. I still don't entirely suggest what you're trying to do though, GPU mining has taken a huge hit lately and is fairly unlikely to truly recover. Also, the 270x is unnecessary. The 270 is basically the same without the factory OC, and is apparently THE price/hashrate for GPU mining. Any of those OC'able APU's are huge power hogs. 100watts stock. I'd suggest bumping to a non-overclockable a8 at 65watts. In general, it's not the best to mix the two rigs though as you will always have unnecessary power draw from a rig that has the capability to game than one build purely for mining.

The power supply seems to be the one thing I have seen people over shoot a lot, since component ratings are much higher than what they actually draw? I just wasn't sure what I wanted other than Corsair because I have heard great stuff from my friends who build with them.
I don't understand? Why are you getting an APU and GPU? How is that gonna matter whether you want to mine or play games? I don't quite understand your thinking, unless by light gaming you mean 2D games, cause you won't be getting more than 30fps on any new 3D game with that APU even on lowest quality. Also you're buying a 750w psu when your power consumption is bellow 400 max. You can also buy a 280x right now for $200 from other miners who quit after the latest bitcoin fiasco http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00H34J64M/ref=dp_olp_all_mbc?ie=UTF8&condition=all Either way you can get this PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks CPU: AMD A10-6800K 4.1GHz Quad-Core Processor ($139.99 @ Newegg) CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($29.98 @ OutletPC) Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-F2A88XM-D3H Micro ATX FM2+ Motherboard ($64.99 @ Newegg) Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory ($79.99 @ Newegg) Storage: Crucial M500 120GB 2.5" Solid State Disk ($73.99 @ Amazon) Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($56.98 @ OutletPC) Video Card: MSI Radeon R9 270X 2GB TWIN FROZR Video Card ($199.99 @ Newegg) Case: Corsair 300R ATX Mid Tower Case ($39.99 @ Newegg) Power Supply: Corsair CX 500W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($34.99 @ Newegg) Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8 (OEM) (64-bit) ($97.98 @ OutletPC) Total: $805.87 (Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.) (Generated by PCPartPicker 2014-04-24 00:15 EDT-0400) But you need to seriously consider whether you really need an APU or not and how serious you are about mining. Do you really want to mine and play games at the same time? It would be a serious waste of money to buy an APU unless you really want to dedicate the card completely to mining 24/7
Thanks Lilyo. I am going to be mining Dogecoin and some other Alt-Coins because the difficulty on Bitcoin is a little high for me right now to want to mine, and I don't wanna blow cash on an ASIC miner on endless pre-order.I have been trading altcoins for it and am getting closer to having a full Bitcoin every day. I appreciate you pointing out the ram boost and better APU that I could have in my budget. The APU is mainly so I have the option to do both for short periods of time If I would like. Rust is the most graphics intense game I have currently, and if I am playing any thing other than that I won't be mining at the same time.
Yeah but I would buy the 280x. You can read the reviews on the sellers. Also I suggest you buy 2400mhz ram, or just overclock the Ripjaws. It'll give you anywhere from 10-20 more fps in most games https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FGlnnMNuEHk
Honestly if I were you get an i3 and 270 system. Mine in the off hours, and if you decide you really want to mine more pick up another or a 7850 to be dedicated to mining when you have the money. (You don't have to have matching cards whatsoever for mining, they all run independently not in crossfire)
That's a good point Level. If I do put in a second card for mining purposes I'll just dish out a bit more for a better PSU at the same time. thanks guys, y'all have given me a few things to think about.
