It is so disappointing that they are axing what is effectively our entire space program. It might have been okay for them to dissolve the shuttle program if they had another program to replace it with so they don't. However the good news is that we will be sending Americans to Mars by at least 2030, assuming they don't push the date back like they do every few years.
US space shuttle Endeavour will launch for one last time as NASA space shuttle programme's next-to-last mission. The launch nears the end to the programme's 30-year run. President Barack Obama and his family are expected to attend Friday's event. Also attending is the wife of the shuttle commander, Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, who is recovering from a gunshot wound sustained while meeting constituents in January. Al Jazeera's Scott Heidler reports from the Kennedy Space Center. Read more: http://aljazeera.com/video/americas/2011/04/201142975014805705.html

I'm concerned that by then no one will really care.
You're right nobody will care at all when we go to Mars.
No one cares about this, TEH ROYAL WEDDING IS ON. (:wtc: this is way more awesome than a fucking wedding)
No one cares about this, TEH ROYAL WEDDING IS ON.
Sadly this is the reaction of most people.
I'm concerned that by then no one will really care.
What the fuck? You have some fucked up logic if you think anticipation is dissipating.
What the fuck? You have some fucked up logic if you think anticipation is dissipating.
People are stupid, and as others have said, find weddings in other countries by monarchs who have no real power more important than the exploration of space.

It has been postponed :(

damnit
:sigh: Poor NASA
Thanks Obama, for making this the last Shuttle launch in the US. I feel like he surrendered the Space race for the US.
Thanks Obama, for making this the last Shuttle launch in the US. The space race ended a long time ago, this isn't the cold war anymore.

Robots can run experiments in orbit while American engineers fix problems on Earth. 4th, you're a dumbass. 5th, "Date: June 28 + Mission: STS-135 Launch Vehicle: Space Shuttle Atlantis Launch Site: Kennedy Space Center - Launch Pad 39A Launch Time: 3:40 p.m. EDT Description: Space shuttle Atlantis will carry the Raffaello multipurpose logistics module to deliver supplies, logistics and spare parts to the International Space Station. Atlantis also will fly a system to investigate the potential for robotically refueling existing spacecraft and return a failed ammonia pump module."
