First off, Speccy results are here. Here's the important stuff, however:
Operating System MS Windows XP Professional 32-bit SP3 CPU Intel Pentium 4 541 Prescott 90nm Technology RAM 2.0GB Dual-Channel DDR @ 199MHz (3-3-3-8) Motherboard Hewlett-Packard 0968h (XU1 PROCESSOR) Graphics HP L1706 @ 1280x1024 1024MB ATI Radeon HD 4600 Series (Sapphire/PCPartner) Hard Drives 313GB Western Digital WDC WD3200AAJS-22B4A0 (IDE) Optical Drives TSSTcorp CDRWDVD TS-H492C RSFQTYX JC56NWP6 SCSI CdRom Device Audio ATI Function Driver for High Definition Audio - ATI AA01
The RAM I'm trying to put in is one GB of the exact same type, association, and mhz as the two I already have in, right down the company that produced it. The second I put it into the computer, it quits starting up. Literally, it gets to the windows loading screen, and if it makes it past that, it shows the mouse on a black background then resets ad infinitum. Taking the new RAM out makes the computer go back to normal. Can anyone help me?
Tried it with Just the new stick in and nothing else to rule out (or in) the possibility of a DOA stick? Also Memtest86 with only the new stick in.
Maybe the order of the sticks is the problem? I think largest sticks go first, followed by smaller ones... Also your graphics card has as much vram as your whole computer does... did. :psyduck:
The second I put it into the computer, it quits starting up.
Did you put the ram in while it as on?!
Could be a broken ram stick.
Snipped. No idea mate, sorry
