I see crash videos ALL the time on youtube and 98% of them are Russian. It amazes me that you see these expensive ass cars on the road in Russia and get completely totaled. My theory's are : 1. They are not trained properly and or road safety (Lights, Signs, Turning, ect) are not well maintained. 2. They have dashboard camera's on a lot of vehicles I believe for insurance proof 3. Weather conditions are horrible 4. Cars are cheap in Russia and not well granted. 5. Russians are badass's and or drunk on vodka 6. All of the above If you can give any more theories / explanation on this please do. Video for people This whole channel is perfect for this shit : http://www.youtube.com/user/CarCrashCompilation
8:13 PM - Minimal: Why are Russians 8:13 PM - Minimal: Bad at driving 8:13 PM - Eldritch Waffles: Because you can pass your test with a bribe 8:14 PM - Minimal: hmm
I asked a friend of mine from Russia about this. As well as people putting dashcams on their cars for proof of insurance, many roads are not marked correctly. Plus some people still drive those shitty Soviet-era Ladas. And yes, there are drunk people on the roads.
You would assume that because there is so much footage coming from Russia because of the dash cams. If you look well enough you'll some American one's jackasses with Corvettes. But less footage as the only footage of it is from bystanders or CCTVs which are harder to obtain.
Is it a law to have dash cams in your vehicle in russia since it is so common? and if so when did it started?
Is it a law to have dash cams in your vehicle in russia since it is so common? and if so when did it started?
I believe insurance fraud became a huge thing so a law was passed to force people to put dash cams in their cars.
I believe insurance fraud became a huge thing so a law was passed to force people to put dash cams in their cars.
Makes since. I also guess insurance companies also let u keep the video too. And it gets out on the internet.
Snow, Vodka and Russians.

At 1:40 it feels like a nuke went off. Are there any cases (at least in Russia) where crashes aren't caused by a lack of common sense on any party involved?
i see crashes on youtube all the time and 98% of them are american
Americans don't speak Russian.
Some of these crashes are amazing. I have to feel sorry for the bus drivers and taxi drivers and other service drivers, they probably see more accidents than anyone else.
Why are Russian's bad drivers?
Why do you add apostrophes when they're not necessary?
Not all russians are bad drivers. Russians just really like to put any shit they can on youtube to be ~famous~, so that's why you see a lot of crashes. Also dashcams on every car due to fucked up poliece
I believe insurance fraud became a huge thing so a law was passed to force people to put dash cams in their cars.
I'm not really into laws but I can tell exactly that it's not true.
I am Russian originally from Moscow, and I would like to say that it is indeed an extremely aggressive driving environment. Also seriously people, could you cut it down on the Vodka jokes a little bit? While I do realize that alcoholism is a serious issue in my original country, I do not drink whatsoever. Although I was amused to find out that my stepfather has quite a few different bottles of it, I think that it might be chasing me, please help. And Vodka is originally a Polish drink, according to Vice anyway.
What really confuses me about a lot of russian car crashes is how nonchalant everyone else is about them. Like if a car crash happens RIGHT IN FRONT OF SOMEONE, they don't even fucking flinch.
And yet, I felt fairly surprised at how quite a few of the dash cam drivers pulled over for vehicles in an accident even though the drivers were not involved. That makes me think that there are also a lot of courteous drivers in Russia.
It's like asking "why is there so much police brutality?". You only see the bad because that's what's worth uploading, viewing, talking about, laughing at, gossiping about, "bad news is good news" etc. However, Russia does have a problem with outdated road safety systems (highway dividers), incorrect (or lack of) road signs. I'm sure, though, that if everyone over here in the US had a dashcam like that, you'd see roughly the same amount of crazy shit.
Also "pass your test with a bribe" is absolutely right. Funny thing - bribing to get your driving license instantly is sometimes cheaper then actually passing the test. Don't ask me how it works, I haven't experienced that myself. All I can say that if you fail your driving test, where you have to drive around the town, you will have to pay the police to do this again, which also takes a lot of time as well.
because they are always rushin' to get somwhere
because they are always russian' to get somewhere
Well I know where to go when I want to die.
This is where Carmageddon begins, in real life...?
Because Russia is large so you will obviously see this happen more often than in Lichtenstein.
evidently vodka
