• ACN Rep - Make Thousands reselling utility services? Or lose $499 just to work for them?

So recently an old classmate of mines from High School messaged me on facebook and sent me a text message about a money offer. Where I could make big bucks quick and not work at all. At first, I already smelled a scam. But what made it kinda fishy was the fact that he did make money, five Grand to be exact. Now, This may seem like a good job offering. But what scares me the most is that most of the guys from my school (After graduating) seems to have been suckered into a lot of "Pyramid Scams". One example of which a classmate of mine took a job at a "Vector" company where they were to sell kitchen ware. Issue was that they had to pay a small "Investment" and soon afterward called everyone on her phone book and sold out their numbers to the companies. That of which were targeted keep getting calls on a daily basis about offerings like these. The company in my situation is ANC Rep. Which is a telecommunications company that resells utilities such as TV/HDTV Service, Internet, Long Distance Phone Service and much much more. Now, I did some research on google and did a youtube search. It seems that the company has 50/50 success rate on people. When you want to be a part of this "So called team". You're asked to invest $499 to the company to get a "Special Kit" that allows you to sell services to people and as well as that, recruit friends and family into the company. Now, the only reason I even heard about this was because of an old classmate messaging me and sending me a text about this "Awesome Offer". I met up with the representative that my friend was able to hook me up with, And saw a video about the company. Apparently bought up to this status by Donald Trump. The stuff that I saw in this video just mainly said "We resell services cause we sell shit a lot cheaper hurrf durrf. We got these phones, with screens on it so you can chat with your friends and family long distance on the phone and see them on the screen with the little webcam thingy on it." What makes me skeptical about it is that three of my friends apparently got "Paid" money doing this. My friend Matthew was paid five grand and bought a new laptop and stuff with it. What makes me wonder is how many people did he recruit and how many sales did he make? Out of all the articles that I read, most of which were about how much of a scam ACN Rep was; They overcharged on peoples bills. Custom Service was total shit tier. They required you to notify them if your moving regardless if your moving or not for any changes. They still charge you bills even after you stop using their services. And they include hidden fees. A few links I read about this being a scam was : Links where It had examples and testimonies of how bad this company is http://assaultofknowledge.wordpress.com/2009/05/17/fox-11-news-investigates-the-acn-scam/ http://www.scam.com/showthread.php?t=4418 http://www.mlmeo.com/acn/scam.php http://www.ripoffreport.com/Search/ACN.aspx Your thoughts facepunch?
a real company would never ask you to invest $500 for a "special kit" to sell stuff to people.
Don't do it.
They required you to notify them if your moving regardless if your moving or not for any changes.
What? And don't do it
Sounds like a scam to me.
Do it, then sue!
It's a scam, every pyramid scheme does it but they call it like "networking" or something. I just recently was offered one and the second I saw their graphs I knew. Fucking scams.
I think Penn and Teller did an episode on this kind of scam.
I think Penn and Teller did an episode on this kind of scam.
Yeah, the episode "Easy Money"
But what about my friends who were able to get paid a bit over five grand? How does that explain it? Did they sell out all their family and friends for that cash?
But what about my friends who were able to get paid a bit over five grand? How does that explain it? Did they sell out all their family and friends for that cash?
You gotta spend money to swindle people into making money for you. I've heard of this exact company before. They tried to recruit a friend, luckily, he asked me to research said company. He never replied to any further messages from them.
Nah, that stuff's legit. My cousin and his girlfriend are both doing that stuff and they're gettin' bank like crazy
I've already decided no on this, Seeing how my own research has led me to believe this is a pyramid scam. The whole thing has so many flaws which is pretty much making it even more dangerous even in the off chance that it did work.
