"Port Halo 3?"....."Nah, just make another top down"
I know I'm past beating the dead horse but holy shit...
Oh please, not this again. Next they'll come out saying "Yeah, we're totally buddies with the PC audience".

It's like Microsoft hates money.

You would think it would actually cost them less to do that instead of making a complete pile of garbage that they're not going to profit from, from scratch.

I know it wouldn't be cheap to port the older games but surely a company as large as Microsoft can get a B team together and port atleast Halo 1-3 to PC. ODST and Reach if they are particularly ambitious.
I'm not asking them to release new games alongside the Xbone because that's their console killer app and they are much larger projects but why not the old ones?
I liked spartan assault but I want a real halo game please.
yessir microsoft i sure do love being fed scraps all the time

Your avatar is so fitting for this it's not even funny

It's more like they have us strapped to a wall, like hostages, and then they go:
"Buy an Xbox... You have all the Halos there!"
"Fuck you! Release it on PC!"
"You shouldn't have said that..."
*reveals ports for XboxOne and Spartan Strike for PC*
"NOOOOO, ARGH, YOU FIEND!..."
Release shitty Halo games on pc, no one plays them.
"Well clearly pc users don't want Halo games so we won't bother porting any."
Well colour me pissed the fuck off.
It would make sense for Microsoft to sell Halo 3 on PC. It's an old game and it's already sold as many copies as it's ever gonna get. The only way to sell more copies is for them to expand their market to the PC.
I just hope they release it with some mod tools. I'd love if Halo 3 had a modding community as strong as Source or the Elder Scrolls.
I've quit giving a shit about Halo. You know those guys you see that didn't have the patience to wait like a year for a game's PC port and they lose interest in the game? That's where I'm at right now, only it's been way more than a fucking year.
Holy shit these assholes
these
assholes
Fuck you, too. Asshats. Why even bother? PC isn't a phone.
If you guys want to play Halo, why not get an Xbox..?
Fuck you, too. Asshats. Why even bother? PC isn't a phone.
Oh now I understand.
They want their xbox playerbase to believe that pcs have the same low capabilities as their phones, so that the xbox one looks better in their eyes.
its as if microsoft can't comprehend that computers can actually handle 3D graphics better than consoles
its as if microsoft can't comprehend that computers can actually handle 3D graphics better than consoles
Can't undermine the revolutionary power of the Bone
What's worse: the idea that someone at Microsoft is stupid enough to believe that this is truly what the PC base wants, or the idea that Microsoft is intentionally giving us Halo spinoffs few people actually want in order to punish us or something? Because I'm convinced it has to be one of those things.
microsoft please stop slapping me, my face is already bruised.

I think the truth is that they know if they port the halo series to PC's, they're console will lose the exclusiveness of one of its most popular and successful game series. So basically it comes down to they don't want to see a lot of people lose interest in they're console.
At least that's what I think is the reasoning for them refusing to give such a demanded game series for the PC. That or they really are just that stupid as to not see an obvious opportunity to make copious amounts of money.
If you guys want to play Halo, why not get an Xbox..?
Because most of us who want to play Halo on the PC already own gaming rigs that are more than capable of running them? Seems like an obvious answer to me. There's a huge amount of people on the PC who would buy a ported Halo game in a heartbeat, It's just frustrating that they don't do it since so many people want it.
If you guys want to play Halo, why not get an Xbox..?
I agree, but the mustard race don't.
I agree, but the mustard race don't.
Right, because it's unreasonable to not want to have to pay $300 for a machine that plays games when you already have a machine that plays games, does so much more, and isn't as limited as the other machine.
I think Agoat has a great point though. It is an Xbox series with two ports that came out years after, and really didn't do a fraction as well, as the Xbox versions. It has always and will always be (unless changes happen), an Xbox franchise. As it is one of Microsoft's biggest hitters and console sellers.
So you have to think about it in a business sense, how much time and money and manpower is this going to take, how much are we going to gain from it, and how much are we going to lose (like say in Xbox sales).
None of us were promised nor obligated Halo on PC, and its time to get over it; its a game series and there are many other there. If it happens, it happens; if it doesn't? Oh well, it was never promised. (To my knowledge)
If i understood the gameplay reveal commentary video correct, the Prometheans are going to be Covenant allies, helping them to locate and unearth artifacts on Earth and in places undiscovered, in 2552, during (and then after) the events of Halo 2
what the fuck ._.

It's stunning how little 343 knows about Halo. They really ruined the franchise. Despite this being a mockery of the large demand for Halo PC, it's just an altogether horrible mashup of money milking.
