Purchasing Windows Pro Upgrade for $30.. do I need the disk?

When I purchase the $30 upgrade version I am prompted with an extra $13 charge for a disk.
Here's the page:

So should I "trash" the extra $13 order and just download the $30 version or should I order the $13 one as well for a backup?
Can I burn whatever they're gonna let me electronically download onto a disk anyway or is it a different file than what they'll send me?
PS: this is an offer from Microsoft for university students.
What is your current OS?
Vista Premium 32 bit
You could always use the Vista/7 Recovery disks from neosmart, but even then, a reinstall may be necessary, and the disk could save you from having to reinstall and re-validate vista then upgrading back to 7.
It really depends on whether or not you're willing to spend $13.
And I'd assume the digital copy is different so they can make more money off sending you a disk, but I'm not 100% sure.
Get the disc just to be safe i would say.

It's not like $13 is a super mega shitload of money anyway.
The disks they send you are mainly not proper windows 7 disks. just upgrade only disks.
But depending on the country you live in. its legal to download windows 7 and then just enter your cd-key during instalation
