I've been trying to create a map, but 92% of the time it just crashes with 0xC0000005 (The thread tried to read from or write to a virtual address for which it does not have the appropriate access.) from client.dll
I've reinstalled and whatnot yet it still seems to be playing Russian roulette with 5 loaded bullets.
Specs:
CPU: Intel C2Q Q9950 @ Stock
RAM: 4GB SuperTalent @ 5-5-5-15 (Stock)
GPU: ATI Radeon HD4870
Checking through the event log GMod also had this problem some time ago.
Any ideas how to get around this? I couldn't find anything decent on THE Google.
So to be sure, does it crash only when it launches css after it's done compiling? Or also when you just reguarly start it by steam?
Also, at what point does it crash, when opening the game or when loading the map? If it's the last one, does it also happen with official maps?
also I like your russian roulette analogy

Both. It tends to crash right as it opens, however the few times it started properly it crashed loading the map. Though the latter isn't very often.
