Yes and no, Yes: I wouldnt mint having a pint while watching a good film. No: I dont want to have a bunch of twats behind me, pissed out of there mind saying, "Ahahahahahahaha he said vagina, BWHAHAHAHAHAHA"", other than that, yeah.
In Amsterdam you can buy a beer in a movie theater, I don't mean an ol' paper cup, I mean a glass of beer.
Yes, but a very limited amount and have a huge warning/disclaimer saying that if you act like an ass, you'll be removed.
They do actually, you just need to find specialty ones that are also restaurants. They're gaining popularity. As a worker of a movie theatre i think it shouldn't or at least not in EVERY theatre, in my area the people are all assholes. They are already loud and obnoxious and i frequently have to kick people out for this. We get a lot of fights too and if alcohol were to be served in my theatre it just would not end nicely. So pretty much i think it's perfectly ok and great if the theatre were in a more upscale neighborhood/ downtown city centre theatres.
Ever been to a movie tavern? Depending on the movie, and the time, they will ask to see an id before you can even buy a ticket, because they server drinks which I think is a pretty good check to keep minors out of drinking, and its also nice to sit at a movie theater before/during a movie start and talk with your friends and have a few drinks.
If the film is rated over 18, wouldn't want to have drunks at a PG. And only in moderation, one or two units per person.

Ok, but with the ability to kick out anybody being disorderly and having a limit on the beer sold.
You can already buy beer at most, if not all Dutch cinemas and it seems to go well. Mind you, I don't go to the movies that often but I've yet to meet your classical intoxicated retard.
Every single time people mention this (and they do quite a lot), i just can't stop thinking about the scene in Pulp Fiction with Vincent and Jules driving to the apartment.

I'd say no. Even though unlikely, there will always be those assholes who drink too much and ruin the movie for everyone else.
I would like it, as long as they keep an eye on the audience and kick out people who get too pissed.
ciders
We have a drafthouse around here and it seems to go quite well.
No... But then i dont go to the moives..
I had to pay three fucking dollars for a plastic cup of beer, IDK what brew it was, before I went to sit down in the show, not worth it. I still remember the end of the movie falling flat.
Yes, but a very limited amount and have a huge warning/disclaimer saying that if you act like an ass, you'll be removed.
I reside in the American suburbs, and there are only two theaters around me that serves glassed beer, directly to you when your screening, and I have never seen such a warning like this, but I actually never seen any real drunk behavior, when its so crowded at night, maybe their too interested in the films.
No: I dont want to have a bunch of twats behind me, pissed out of there mind saying, "Ahahahahahahaha he said vagina, BWHAHAHAHAHAHA"", other than that, yeah.
The only time I have encountered over-drunk people in something similar is when I was at a musical stage theater, no drink allowed inside, those dried-up women were nuts, its one thing when your young, it gets distrubing when older generations way past their 30's still think their young.
