It has become so frequent and so fucking RANDOM that I have just had enough.
I tried using CCleaner to clean up my registry files or what-the-fuck-ever among other things, but it appears it hasn't done jack shit to stop the BSoD from occurring.
So, Facepunch, what do you recommend I should use to help stop this barrage of bullshit coming from Microsoft's most successful program: the Blue Screen of Death?
Thanks.
EDIT: FUCK WRONG SECTION. Moving over to Tech Support subforums. SORRY.
What is the error?
One of your components is probably failing due to something like overheating or it got hit by a power surge. If it is the former, just open your case up, clean out all the fans, and leave it in a very cool room for a few hours, and hope for the best.
Reinstall windows.

Quick, edit your OP telling the mods that you realize this thread should be in another forum and you might not get banned.
Bluescreen has performed an illegal action. Bluescreen must be closed.
WHAT THE FU
Bluescreen is caused by a variety of things such as drivers, failing hardware, integrated graphics, and the sort
My 105 degree furnace laptop seems to not Bsod when overheating though, it just throttles
What the fuck, as soon as I clicked on this thread I bsoded. :tinfoil:

It's computer speak for "Please Kill Me."

Y'know I've never actually had a BSoD since I had Win98 10 years ago.
Are they still common?

Depends how you treat your computer.
Never had a blue screen in the 6 years I've had my pc. I guess I'm lucky...
My Macbook on the other hand... It can't go a week without a kernel panic. I'm too cheap to get it repaired so the poor thing will have to suffer to the end.

Depends on whether you have a graphics chip or card, chips crash more often but it occurs on cards as well.
Almost all BSoDs on modern operating systems are linked to a gfx hardware malfunction.

I don't know, it's machine code.
I noticed that the BSoD occurs more often when I'm using the internet.
I just updated my Wireless PCI adapter, so hopefully this will solve the problem.
People have also been saying it might be a problem with my RAM or whatever-the-fuck.

Any particular exe given on the BSoD? I remember my Logitech webcam used to BSoD me all the time because of the echo cancellation feature. I can be almost anything that causes it
In the 5 years I've had my PC I've never had a BSoD.
Honestly if I was having this kind of problem, I'd run a complete scan of my PC with my anti-virus (Avast!) and deal with any viruses it finds.
If that fails, I'd try a reformat, although that would be a last measure.

Or it could be a hardware issue, and you'd have done all that for nothing.
snip
I had a BSoD fest on my computer a year or two ago, right after I built it. It started when I'd play a memory intensive game like Company of Heroes and just expanded from there until Windows itself would appear unregistered. Turned out the problem was with my RAM, the two brand new sticks I had were faulty and dying.
Time for an upgrade. Or you could kill yourself, like me.

sauce on avatar pls
My PC was doing this, it turned out it was overheating so i took it apart and cleaned everything.
(it also didn't help that i'd leave it on for days)
Sadly, with things like BSoD, you can only figur eit out with process of elimination. reinstall windows, if that doesn''t help give your PC a spring clean. Dust off the components, make sure all the wires are intact, check for any small burn marks on the logic boards (I've had that one happen before).
If it's still BSoDing there are various diagnostic tools that canhelp you a little more. BUt sometimes it may be time to throw in the towel.
Computers are fickle mistress sometimes :v: .
