Okay so I am a complete novice in this domain, and since I've been stuck with a computer that can barely run Team Fortress 2 at 15fps for the last 3 years I've decided I should buy a new PC. Problem is, I don't know shit. Well, I do know some shit but I'm afraid of making a mistake and end up with something that doesn't work or has poor performances. I'm a french faggot and I have a budget of max ~600€. I've already made some sort of list with the basic parts, here it is:
CPU: AMD FX-4300 - 3,8 GHz - Socket AM3+ (FD4300WMHKBOX) Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-990XA-UD3 - Socket AM3+ - Chipset AMD 990X - ATX Video Card: GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 650 OC - 2 Go GDDR5 - PCI-Express 3.0 Case: ENERMAX Vostok Advanced ECA3121-BS (U3) - black Power Supply: CORSAIR CX500 80 PLUS Bronze - 500 W RAM: 2x PATRIOT Signature Line - 4 Go - DDR3-1333 - PC3-10600 I've been searching on a french website called Pixmania, I doubt I can just link it here. But all of this adds up to roughly 460€.
(This is the result of a basic search, you're free to laugh if this is laughable) I've been holding on this list for like two weeks without being able to decide if I'm making the right choice, and I need advice. Is this current build okay, and what should I change if it's not? What else do I need? I think I am also in dire need of a new monitor, mouse and keyboard, as they have VGA and PS/2 ports. This isn't my priority though. I don't plan on reusing stuff from my current computer. I mostly play games and make videos, so I need something that can play most games decently and not shit itself when rendering a 720p video that's 2 minutes long. Overall I need advice on pretty much everything. I got a massive overload when looking for information and I think I got lost, however this has been on hold for far too long and I need to get this done asap. Thanks for reading.
So, AMD CPU's are ok ish for this budget. Intel is generally better for gaming these days, but also more expensive. For your budget, I would get the get the 860K, Its actually really decent for its price. Just dont expect to play Planetside 2 or GTA V smoothly, you need at least something like a Intel i5 4460 for that which is more than twice the price. Fast build I stole from tweakers.net: CPU: AMD Athlon II X4 860K Black Edition Boxed MOBO: MSI A78M-E45 RAM: Crucial Ballistix BLS2CP4G3D1609DS1S00CEU GPU: Club3D Radeon R9 270 '14 Series HDD: Seagate ST1000DX001, 1TB CASE: Cooler Master N300 (KKN1, closed) PSU: Antec VP350P 560 (Ish)$ Getting 8GB ram instead of 4 is a nice upgrade if you want to make it 600 round.
