Argentina has condemned a planned visit to the Falkland Islands by UK MPs as another sign of Britain's "militarisation" of the South Atlantic. The plans for a visit by members of the Commons defence select committee emerged on Tuesday. Tension over the islands - which Argentina claims as the Malvinas - has been rising in the run-up to the 30th anniversary of the Falklands war. The UK has rejected Argentina's calls for talks on the islands' sovereignty. "The UK has transformed the Malvinas into the cornerstone of a system of military bases thousands of kilometres from London to control the South Atlantic, inter-oceanic routes, and the approaches to Antarctica," Argentina's foreign ministry said in a statement. It also repeated its claim that Britain had sent a nuclear submarine to the region. The MPs' visit is expected to take place in March. They're just throwing shit left and right to try and make it look like the UK is doing something bad, the Falklands don't belong to you Argentina, deal with it.
Go ahead and complain about it Argentina, but the first world can't hear you over it's competent military.
How is an MP visit related to the Military in this sense exactly?
Perhaps they are too used to military junta's that they confuse politicians and the army?
I agree, us sending MPs to visit the island is a aggressive action. But attempting to starve them via trade embargoes? Obviously the most peaceful and rational option available, and guaranteed to bring the islanders over to their side.
I think I speak for everyone who lives in the british isles when I say: "Argentina, look at all these fucks we don't give, they're practically falling from the sky!"
Not sure if sarcasm.
Why would it be sarcasm? It makes perfect sense
Not sure if sarcasm.
The italics make me double serious, don't you know. DOUBLE serious.
Why would it be sarcasm? It makes perfect sense
...MP's... Militarisation...? This is Members of Parliament we are talking about and not military police, right?

Obviously as a show of solidarity with the Falkland inhabitant.
Does anyone here really believe that this whole thing will come to blows?
Does anyone here really believe that this whole thing will come to blows?
No. I don't care what some people say, the Argentinians can't win a war against us and I think they know it.
Battlefield 3: Falkland expansion. Everyone plays recon and tries to snipe each other from 300 miles away with 50 cals. That sounds familiar actually...
God forbid the Queen visits the Falklands, Argentina might have to drop napalm on her.
God forbid the Queen visits the Falklands, Argentina might have to drop napalm on her.
Should send Prince Philip, now I bet one of his comments would stir Argentina up. Political MP or MP, as in guard.

Argentina, just play Hearts of Iron 3. Since you keep fantasizing about taking the Falklands by force, you clearly need a method to just get it out of your system.

Just to shut Argentina up, the UK government should call a referendum asking what the residents of the Falkland islands want.

tbh some of our fatter mps could probably just roll over the argentinian army. I mean, look at eric pickles, all he needs is a turret on his head and he'd be a tank.

If it was Eric Pickles I could understand, he's a threat to any countries food supply.
