Americans in New Zealand might be the first one to change the game for the US primary elections, something that could be the turning point in the democratic race. The result are astounding with Bernie Sanders beating Hillary Clinton by 3 to 1. New Zealand was the first of 39 countries where Democrats Abroad took part in the voting process. Other will host in-person voting between March 1-8; voting sites will open in 22 countries on Super Tuesday alone, and in 104 cities throughout the week. Kat Allikian, Chair of Democrats Abroad New Zealand, said, “DEMOCRATS IN NEW ZEALAND HAVE MADE THE FIRST CONTRIBUTION TO WHAT COULD BE A DECISIVE DAY IN U.S. PRIMARY ELECTIONS”
Sanders- 21 Clinton- 6 http://www.mangofeed.com/bernie-sanders-wins-70-points-first-super-tuesday-results/ [editline]1st March 2016[/editline] http://dailycaller.com/2016/03/01/sen-bernie-sanders-wins-vermont-democratic-primary/
The Daily Caller Election Desk can now project that Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders has won the Democratic primary in his home state, easily besting Hillary Clinton.
oh yea, forget about abroad votes
I know it was "only" his home state, but I like to think this could be a huge boost to Sander's chances.
I like how they say "beats Clinton 3 to 1" which sounds way more impressive despite it being from an election consisting of literally 28 people.
Primary rules are weird. Like there are all sorts of small deligates to pick up from all sorts of places because the primaries aren't a government process
Man, Bernie supporters really are desperate for good news, lmao.
Man, Bernie supporters really are desperate for good news, lmao.
All the polls are against Sanders so people are hoping for a miracle of silent voters which could very well happen but im not saving my breath
What a difference an outside perspective does to people, that a lot of people outside the country find Bernie to not be as radical or "pie in the sky" as people in the states seem to think.
How do they do in-person voting abroad? at the embassy?
How do they do in-person voting abroad? at the embassy?
I'd believe in US territories they would do it like normal voting in designated places, whereas in differing countries I believe they would need to visit an embassy.
I'd believe in US territories they would do it like normal voting in designated places, whereas in differing countries I believe they would need to visit an embassy.
Since it's purely a party run affair they probably have a voting place setup somewhere, embassy's are hard to get into with security
I wasn't aware of this system of "Democrats Abroad," I guess your permanent address has to be in another country? I personally will just be filing an absentee ballot
Kind of a misleading thread title.
Man, Bernie supporters really are desperate for good news, lmao.
Yeah, let's go Bernie! You are rocking the elections!
Yeah, let's go Bernie! You are rocking the elections!
Superdelegates can change their votes as the election goes on.
Man, Bernie supporters really are desperate for good news, lmao.
Yeah it's really pathetic how much people care about who becomes the next leader of their country since it will determine a lot about the next 4 years, lmao
Yeah, let's go Bernie! You are rocking the elections!
You are forgetting what superdelegates are
Yeah, let's go Bernie! You are rocking the elections!
I thought it was known that Clinton had a shitton of superdelegates on her side? This isn't representative on the current polls. Sanders might not win, but so far, I still have hope.
Superdelegates can change their votes as the election goes on.
But they haven't so until they do, they're Clinton delegates.
But they haven't so until they do, they're Clinton delegates.
And there's still over 3,500 left to pledge their vote.
And there's still over 3,500 left to pledge their vote.
Which has Clinton pegged to get the majority of over all.
Which has Clinton pegged to get the majority of over all.
I'm not sure how you came to that conclusion For the record I think Hillary will probably win, but it's really not over until it's over.
I'm not sure how you came to that conclusion
I am toxxing my account on this. I think we all can recognize that Clinton will beat Sanders - whether we like Sanders or not.
You are forgetting what superdelegates are
Please explain then
I am toxxing my account on this. I think we all know Clinton will beat Sanders - whether we like Sanders or not.
I'm by no means toxxing, but it's been clear for awhile that it'll be Trump v Clinton
I'm by no means toxxing, but it's been clear for awhile that it'll be Trump v Clinton
In which Clinton will win.
I'm by no means toxxing, but it's been clear for awhile that it'll be Trump v Clinton
Which is scary, since Hillary has terrible general election performance. A vote for Hillary is a vote for Trump.
In which Clinton will win.
If we are being poll elitists then we might as well be consistent and say Sanders < Clinton < Trump
i hope hillary gets arrested for the emails before candidate voting is over
In which Clinton will win.
That is debatable. A lot of Democrats, myself included, would likely be voting 3rd party in that scenario which could heavily change the outcome.
i hope hillary gets arrested for the emails before candidate voting is over
oh man that would be something
