ok c&p'd from a forum i posted on before but here goes (btw this was about a month ago but i left it because my post got ignored)
Grr i'm so pissed off, so i go out for a few hours yesterday after using my imac, come back to find when i switch it on, the cpu fan and the optical drive fan are running near enough around 4000 rpm (istat pro), now i did a apple hardware diagnostic on it and i got an error back which is
4SNS/1/C0000008: TLOp--124
now, from the limited information on the net, i find that it's possibly a loose connection or a damaged logic board inside the computer, but im not too sure as apple doesnt seem to have any information on the error and im thinking perhaps somebody in the house did something while i was out like maybe did something to knock the mac over or trip over a cable (which i will say, it isn't exactly easy to trip over the power cable)... i'm just so pissed off because i'll have to go through the hassle of contacting apple and sending the thing back.. anyway maybe i should do mediation and chill the f*ck out
p.s. i went into an apple reseller called stormfront and they said i can take it in and they will send it off to be repaired (thought i couldnt do this because apple wanted me to "pay for an incident" because i have no crapplecare although the thing is still under warranty) but is there any chance i can sort this out at home or do i have to lug this thing into the city centre?
Loose connection maybe, overheating is also a good candidate cause those have piss-poor cooling/airflow
Optical drive fan? uh what
