I swear to christ if they don't make the Y-Wing flyable
looks like a star wars mod for bf4 damn kids calm down
My childhood reborn....
looks like a star wars mod for bf4
I don't see anything similar between the two. Looks more like the old Battlefronts.
I don't see anything similar between the two. Looks more like the old Battlefronts.
Agreed. I'm actually really impressed how it looks more like a graphically updated Battlefront than a Battlefield game with Star Wars theming. The gameplay has that more arcadey look to it, and there's a lot of little touches that make it feel like Stars Wars. Such as the exaggerated character death animations that look like old movie deaths.
"Affronts canon?" They had the same thing in the first Battlefront
This is super obviously Battlefield based, I have lost any interest
looks like a star wars mod for bf4
And Battlefront looked like a Star Wars mod for Battlefield 2.
This is super obviously Battlefield based, I have lost any interest
Your loss. What were you expecting it to be?
And Battlefront looked like a Star Wars mod for Battlefield 2.
If you go back and play both now it's pretty much true.
Your loss. What were you expecting it to be?
Like an actual Battlefront game? Which despite a similar premise the two series have very different gameplay styles. The shooting styles and level design are very different between the series. This gameplay video looks more like BF4, and the level design for Hoth looks very closed compared to the one in Battlefront 2. So this isn't interesting to me because Dice isn't really carrying what I liked about the series other than premise
I don't know if you noticed but the shooting style was nothing like BF4. BF4 is corner peeking in ironsights simulator. This looks more like the old Battlefront run and gun style, no ironsights required.
It looks similar to Battlefield, but more fluid and fun. They should do something about the aiming reticule though. It being white, I "lost" it a few times against the white surface of Hoth.
i like how pretty much all the guns are modified ww2 weapons
i like how pretty much all the guns are modified ww2 weapons
The models are from the original props used in the original trilogy, which were modified WW2 weapons They even make the same sounds as from the original trilogy
Honestly? Even with all those features that were confirmed not to be in the final game, I have a feeling they did good on the features that remain. In the end, if this game is even above average I will definately get it, because just this trailer had me smiling like a little kid. I mean, I have to admit, it looked pretty darn good. As long as it's not another Hardline I'm pretty okay with it.
Doesn't look like pre-alpha to me
Doesn't look like pre-alpha to me
No but it will when it launches :v:
first person combat?? drivable and flyable vehicles?? scopes?? this is a battlefield copy and paste, obviously but really, this is probably the best thing to come out of e3 yet
It looks incredible and to be honest I feel anyone who liked the originals but says this looks awful is just saying it so they can be 'different', because this is everything we could have hoped for and more. No space battles is a shame, but it's not gonna stop me enjoying the game!
But guys there are weapons and vehicles and you kill people, so it's... The arguments for Battlefront=Battlefield aren't that convincing.

It's kinda like a modern Galactic Conquest mod, if it were made for BF4 instead of 1942. For those who don't know, GC was a VERY well made mode for BF1942 back in the day, had everything you could dream of before BattleFront existed. Big Hoth battles, big space battles with drivable cap ships with fighter bays, you could even get into a cloud city shuttle with a bunch of other people and fly around cloud city since everything in that mod had interiors, MY GOD YOU COULD EVEN OPERATE THE SIDE DOORS ON THE FUCKING SHUTTLE FOR FUCK SAKE. Talk about modders who put some serious love into their work that mod was so damn in depth in some places. That is all I could think of when I watched that, some of the most god damn fun I've had in Multiplayer (next to NS1 Custom map servers). Some shitty youtuber playing thru a bunch of maps in the mod, it'll give you an idea of what I'm talking about:
looks like a star wars mod for bf4
At the beginning when the player first started running I thought the same thing, after watching the rest of the video I didn't think that any more.

People don't shoot to miss intentionally, nor do they clump together in the open for an AT AT to obliterate them nor do they take hours gawking at thing going on around them instead of running for cover and shooting as soon as they can. Imo it's going to have the same old corner camping just without iron sights but with added 3rd person. Not that i have any problem with that myself, well except 3rd person because using 1st person is just going to gimp you.
Jesus Darth looked sinister as fuck. Looks great!

I don't want to skip around a video if I just want a short answer to "does it look like it'd play cool or no"

From this video though running and gunning seems more viable due to the simple change of hipfire accuracy being decent enough that you don't need to keep using sights to hit anything except distant targets. From what I could tell it doesn't even look like the cone if fire increases when you shoot, so you can keep blasting away just like the old Battlefront games. Less sight aiming means less cover camping, less cover camping means it already plays vastly differently to Battlefield.

But generally, for showing purposes and building hype in a short period of time at conferences like E3, unscripted stuff won't fly.
