Play Titanfall on PC for Free
It’s Game Time! This is a brand new program on Origin: it’s free time with full games. Origin Game Time isn’t a demo, it’s the full game playable for free for as long as there’s time on your Game Time clock. And we’re kicking off Origin Game Time with a truly massive experience: Titanfall on PC.
This weekend you’ll be able to download Titanfall and play for free for two days straight. We’re launching Origin Game Time for Titanfall across the world over the next several hours, so if you don’t see it available yet in your territory, you will soon. Origin Game Time games will appear on our Free Games page when they’re available to download.
Haven’t felt the thrill of dropping an 18-foot tall metallic beast on your opponent? What about the rush of leaping from wall to wall through the war-torn alleyways of a devastated compound? This is your chance to really see for yourself what Titanfall is all about. Play it for yourself. It won’t cost you a thing.
For Titanfall you’re getting 48 full hours of Pilot/Titan action. It’s the entire game. The Origin Game Time clock begins the moment you start the game for the first time, and ticks down in realtime. Whether you’re fighting your friends or taking a break, the Game Time clock will continue to run.
Love the game after playing during Origin Game Time and want to continue? Your Titanfall progress is saved and you can pick up right where you left off if you purchase Titanfall.
If you already own Titanfall, this weekend is a great time to get back into the game. Origin Game Time will bring new Pilots into the fight – help your teammates or swoop in for some easy points.
Titanfall is only the beginning for Game Time and there’s more on the way. Each Game Time will be unique: different game, different time on the Game Time clock. We’ll keep you posted on Twitter and Facebook (and here!) when your next Origin Game Time game begins.

Okay, this would be cool in theory and I wouldn't mind seeing what pops up on this...
But it'd take me at least one full day or more to download 40GB again after my past experiences with Wolfenstein: The New Order and Max Payne 3. Even if Origin installs faster and more consistently than Steam.
It's probably one of the main reasons why I haven't gotten Titanfall on PC, alongside other things involving the game itself. [sp]and then i could just not be a lazy piece of shit and buy it retail to fix the issue but whatever[/sp]
That's really awesome actually
Your move steam
Certainly an interesting marketing endeavour.

this is literally what a demo used to be a decade ago
just the full game with a limited time to play

"The Origin Game Time clock begins the moment you start the game for the first time, and ticks down in realtime."
Looks like it doesn't run while you download it, it just starts the clock once you run the game for the first time.

Nowadays 'Beta' is synonymous with Demo.
the revolutionary concept of something that was common practice ten years ago

Okay, skim-reading these things sometimes is really dumb for me. That's a whole lot more reasonable.

man you people will complain about ANYTHING
free weekends
You spend the entire weekend downloading the piece of shit only to press play when it expires
Can't chose the game and is quite often the same game doing it over and over
you can't choose this either, it's a EA approved list.
I'm consistently surprised by how shit Origin isn't
If EA does one thing right, its Origin. Its a nice experience for me.

Steam had beat them to the punch, at least on small scale. Let's not forget the free game weekends, except when you manage to download it for free over the weekend you keep it forever
the revolutionary concept of something that was common practice ten years ago
I don't think devs 10 years ago let people own full games for 2 days.
free weekends
This allows you to play the game on your schedule, not the clients.

Origin gives a free game away every month.

Can someone find me AAA games from 2004 where the demo was the actual full game?
Half-Life 2 wasn't, Unreal Tournament 2004 wasn't, Halo PC wasn't, Doom 3 wasn't, Far Cry wasn't, Painkiller wasn't. I can't think of any that were, if you want to find timed trials you have to go back to the 90s and even then it was by far the exception rather than the norm.
Being able to play a full game as much as you want for a weekend, even beat the game if you can do it in that timeframe, didn't exist before Steam with its free weekends, and even then being able to choose the game (even if it's from a list) and start on your own schedule after downloading it is a pretty nice improvement.
This isn't going to do anything to piracy because it was a phony excuse to begin with.

They're at least trying to curb that part in "I'm only pirating to see if the game runs fine on my PC, then I'll buy it"
Horrible gimmick, not interested

thats enough time to play through it's pathetic campaign 4 times over.

Don't they let you preload for free weekends like the week before?
Origin is fantastic

Hell, even games that did the demo formula right, Doom and Wolfenstein 3D via the shareware system, are fucked nowadays. Play a demo on Xbox Live of Wolf 3D, for example, and you can only play the first level of the entire game compared to the original shareware releases letting you play the entire first episodes.
Demos seem like they're treated more like window shopping attempts than actually helping demonstrate if you really want the game in-depth or not.
You know, I wouldn't mind a new, optional sort of "pay as you go" game distribution model where you pay, say, $5 for 10-20 hours of gameplay and are allowed to download and play whatever in the library.
For people like me who hardly have time to play games but want to keep up with the newer multiplayer experiences, it would be nice to not shell out the big bucks for games people abandon in a matter of days, and try out games I wouldn't try out otherwise while cutting down on the steam library fat.
To be fair I remember a lot of early/mid 2000s digital games did this but nonetheless it's still a good thing.
So wait, do you have to pay to refill your game clock or something?
Thank goodness it doesn't start on download, 30gb would take me a week :v:
titanfall is more like 48gb
[editline]20th June 2014[/editline]
also lol i can't remember any games that you play the full thing in the demo. just the first level or whatever
