• Job interview tomorrow for cashier/bagger position.

So today I got a call from my local Harris teeter asking to come in for an interview and I was pretty excited to hear this. I mean this is my first job and I really need it so I can start paying for my own gas and insurance soon. So I asked told my parents about it and they seemed pretty happy. Now they are asking me to fill out a resume so I can take it in with me to show my skills and what now. Plus they expect me to dress in a button down shirt and nice pants. Are they going a little to over board with this? I mean its a position for a cashier/bagger. Do the people hiring really expect me like this? Also side note. I will go and dress nice but the resume part just does not seem right. If it was a manager position or something or higher pay then ya I would bring one but I don't think it is a good idea now. Thoughts everyone?
Good luck
Handjobs are like shaking hands in the business world. Give 'em a jerk and you're guaranteed a job.

Do as suggested: Fill out a resume, and Dress nicely. A hiring manager would hire the man wearing a button up shirt over the man wearing a t-shirt. It shows how determined you are for the job. If they ask for a resume, be sure to fill one out or you can kiss the job goodbye.
I've been working now for a year and half as a bagger. 1. be polite and focus on customer service when asking questions 2. have an answer for the "what is your worst trait" question (mine was perfectionist, you have to answer this question with something that isn't actually a bad trait i.e. attention to detail, overly polite, too trusting, stuff like that) 3. being a bagger sucks 4. a lot 5. having to go get shopping carts back inside in the pouring rain or freezing snow 6. having wet feet all night because of it. 7. customers compaining about something you didn't do 8. doing everyone elses job for them and they're getting paid more than you 9. found this one out the hard way harder worker doesn't get paid more i worked my ass off for a year before i realized i got punished for it more than rewarded becuase now they make me do the harder stuff. "oh well you were going to have the super easy chores because you're not here as late, but because you are the only one who does it right, were going to let you do the hard chores and someone else can have the easy ones" moral: ask to be a cashier
Eat lots of poppy seed bagels.
