How would you measure the volume of an large object.
What's the prize?
Drop it in a larger graduated cylinder filled with water and record the change in water height :science:
Length x Width x Height
Prize please

I forgot to add that this object is irregular. So this method is not possible. Also to the above poster, I doubt I could build a graduated cylinder the size of a car or other large object.
Water displacement
Again, what's the prize?
Hollow it out and fill it with water, then measure how much water there was and convert it to volume.
with developing an indirect method.

Still, water displacement, basically what I was trying to say. You could do the same with a pool or a lake as long as you knew the starting volume of the water.
Put it in a tunnel
don't feel like doing your homework
How exact do you need this measurement to be?
(TBH, I don't care if this is your hw or not. I'm taking Physics right now so this kind of problem solving helps)

Does that work?

Actually I was asking this for extra credit. Anyways I need a plausible answer, not like dropping it in a pool etc...
Google it?
Water displacement. If you're precise you can use whatever body of water you want.
Surround said object with a large square ( or cube if its 3d( and once again L x W x H )) Then subtract the perimeter of the object from the square ( or cube)
Build box just to fit it. Then fill remaining space with watter. Take area of box minus water put in.

A work of art is your prize. I give you all legal rights to use this as a t-shirt design, poster board, and all around picture to distribute. As long as you credit me in the process.

Happy hunting :)
You just lost any hope of getting help
Find out what it's made of, then weigh it, find mass per cubic inch (density), calculate volume using
V= m/ρ
m being weight
ρ being density
only works if it's made of mostly one material
^Was about to say that.
