Sorry about the title, didn't really know what to call it.
The story is that after 2 weeks of my family being allowed to use my pc while I'm not at home they have filled up both hardrives(250 gb, and 500 gb, I have no idea what they filled it up with :S) And now when I turned it on this morning it got trough the bios and came to the vista booting screen(800x600 with the vista logo, black background and a green loading bar) and it just stays there forever untill I manually turn it off.
Now, I can easily boot in failsafe, mode or whatever it's called. Does anyone know what can be the cause of this, and if the full harddrives could have anything to do with it?
Virus, too much processors taking up CPU and ram
Scan with Avast, while in safemode, and disable alot of start up programs then reboot in a normal cycle, see if that decreases the time in a boot up,
Only Utorrent, Steam and my ATI control board boots with my computer(Plus the necesary shit) so too many processes running shouldn't be the problem.
actually it can cause a big problem.
That I have 4 programs running on startup?
Especially steam.
Are you able to backup the files and stuff you need? It sounds like your family screwed up your installation bigtime, and a reformat will most likely be the quickest and simplest solution.
If you don't want to go down that road yet, then find out what is taking up all that space, and delete it! Usually when a hard drive gets to less than 10% space, it starts getting much slower; fragmentation increases almost exponentially, as its nearly impossible to optimise a full hard drive.
Kick your family's asses for being so goddamn retarded on your computer.

You should really stop giving advice.

I allowed them to use it as if it's their own, it's my own fault.
Anyways, I booted in safemode removed the 5 seasons of Lost(50gb or so) and 4 seasons of Prison Break that my brother had managed to download.(I don't mind him having shows on my computer, but download them to the right hardrive ffs, I have a secondary harddrive dedicated to media for a reason)

5 gb is nothing, I don't bother unless I can get rid of 10 gb or more.

And did it work....?
Yes it did.
Edit:
The problem is still there, I was just lucky to be able too boot up yesterday.
Try running CCleaner, it might clean a lot up.
