• No aero feature in Vista?

I had to move to vista as my computer wouldn't stop BSODing and the xp disk I had BSODd, the vista disk did not, now everything is just fine except that aero I love in Windows 7, vista is supposed to have it but it just isn't there.
I point and laugh at Vista. Check if your running Home Basic. If you are, there's your problem.
I am running Home Premium.

Try getting the latest video drivers. It might not be showing it because it thinks your card's not capable.
FOOL LooK! It is actually there, you go to themes and switch it to Aero. If that is already checked, then it's a program.
If you already have the latest drivers, right Click Computer, go to Properties, then Click your Windows Experience Index, and run the assessment. It will determine if you can run Aero or not.

[editline]16th October 2010[/editline] Is there a reason why it goes back when I turn on a browser but it goes on when I minimize? It's annoying as fuck.
Fucking vista how does it work.
Fucking vista how does it work.
It doesn't, that's the problem. Try uninstalling and reinstalling your graphics card's drivers.

Now there's some programs (usually the ones that require your graphics card's capabilities) that dislike aero and disable it when you run them, but not web browsers. Maybe you have some plugins installed that conflict with aero?
Vista is perfectly fine, I have had no issues with it besides aero being off when chrome is in maximized.
It does that. That's one of the differences between 7 and Vista.

This fix's it, using it right now http://www.codegazer.com/vistaglazz/
Seriously, if you guys are having so much trouble with Vista, you really shouldn't be using a computer. It's just an urban myth that Vista sucks. It's been built up by computer illiterate morons because someone once said it. They then spread the word continuously and can't adapt new opinions and facts because of their said computer illiteracy. You're mindlessly following the wagon without knowing what you're talking about. @8BitLord I'm not sure if this is in Vista, but try searching for "aero" in the start menu. In Windows 7 there is this topic that says "Find and fix problems with transparency and other visual effects".
Vista was overly hated when it was new, as people were stuck on Xp, essentially morons but I stand by my post, Vista doesn't work properly. Works, just doesn't do everything right.
The only problem vista had is that it was a bit too resource hungry. Microsoft was most likely planning that people would be getting new machines with Vista rather than installing it on their old ones.
