When I was buying a new PC last year, I decided to buy only 2GB of RAM (Kingston HyperX 2x1GB 1066MHz) to it, since I thought that 2GB will be enough. Now I'm planning to buy more, since some applications use almost 100% of free memory and I'm using Windows 7. My motherboard (ASUS P5QL Pro) supports up to 4x4GB DDR2 1066MHz memory modules, so two slots are already used.
And here comes the problem. I'm going to have these 4x4 1066MHz modules installed in the far future, but I can't buy it all at once.
The another problem is that I don't have any job, neither full-time or part-time, I'm just a poor student who gets the only money from his parents. I gather money very slowly, since February (when I bought Bad Company 2), I got only ~40$, so I'm not going to buy anything that fast.
So, how should I buy these? Buy only 1GB for now, but then what? Maybe should I buy 2 or even 4? This is a problematic decision I can't make by myself.
just buy another pair of 1GB 1066 sticks, unless you're doing something incredibly RAM intensive 4GB is enough
DDR2 is barely worth it any more due to price increases, and 4GB sticks are overpriced anyway

assuming you're in the US, something like http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820134218 would be fine
My MoBo supports only DDR2, so I have no choice.
